That's basically what I use too...it's very strange, anyway, same settings, diff brokers, mine not working. Started IBFX demo now...
Stupid question: Would running 2 platforms on same comp can cause those problems? I got another MT4 open on demo...no testing.

It's not a "pickup" Hiredwhip, it's a pip TRUCK ,hahaha!
I don't say

From what I see in your strategy statement, Hiredwhip, it seems there are no open Carolco orders...even they are selected in the settings...can you confirm this?

Yep, and he is going to leave you to work out for yourself why there are no Carolco grid trades in whip's lost. You will have taken a step forward in your understanding of how this bot works once you have done so.

mine is not trading . i'm testing on 3 different brokers but no luck.
could it be that i'm getting too many " TestGenerator: unmatched data error (low value ..... and price .... mismatched) " errors?

when i saw Bob and Steve's names i jumped in to test . i didn't read Bob's manuals yet. just wanted to see it alive
hopefully i can get rid of the errors

Thanks Bob and Steve,

On the subject of trend-trading, here is a little toy for you - http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...59#post4899659

As soon as I read the strategy, I thought of how this is right up whip's street - requires hardly any intervention.

Well, from my understanding, as they are selected in options, must have been there too, only reason not to be ordered is the trades are ranging trades continued into the trend trades, so the bot doesn't open pendings...but "Aloow change of origin to Trend"=false, so...maybe I'm a bit tired or it's something I do not get.
Also, Hedge is default value, multiplier=3 and value 10, but lots are doubled(if that's hedge), then should be recovery L3 (2xintial lots). :-)

Or maybe I'm too tired....
I don't say

Nearly there.

According to Bob, GU is mostly a ranging pair. The D1 volatility calculations must have remained below the Range threshold, so BB never looked for any trend trades, so there could be no carolco grid trades. L3 was never required for Recovery as the market behaved itself like a good little market and L2 was all that was ever required.

Hehe. It will do nothing to the fun-o-meter except give it a good rest. Might make a few pips in the long-term though; we shall see.

Got it

Steve, I must say I appreciate your dedication in this, but maybe you will find (again) some time to look at that issue that I mentioned before... I'm running atm this test on G/J from 2008 until present and there's still the problem with the Pending Orders unfilled, they freeze any trade management, when happens...and this is IBFX, like yours.:-)
You find Statement attached...loss at the end is right due to this issue, a certain position left open and went negative(look when was opened, in 29 october 2009!)

Just look at the profit until the end of 2009...and I closed it, as it was doing nothing further...18.02.2011 (also, its the source of DD)

P.S. Also, when Hedge is in place, Recovery is aborted, so, if price goes against the hedge, things are out of control :-)

Good morning all. I have a couple of queries about BB. When BB OOTB opens a trade it is placing a double (duplicate ? ) order so I have 2 trades open at the same price. Is this a glitch ?

It is also placing 5 pendings a la Carolco which I am assuming is correct. It looks like I'm actually getting 6 Carolco trades from this i.e. Initial (duplicate ? )trade plus 5 more at 20 pip intervals.

The other thing I am seeking advice on is the Tf that BB is on. As I think I understand it BB is coded to trade off the daily Tf irrespective of which chart you have on screen. Is this correct ? If so it should not matter if we change Tf in order to make viewing easier should it ?

Any comments will be gratefully received as my brain hurts trying to figure BB out even after reading everything umteen times.

Cheers.

Well, Rascacio, if you read again, that's the Carolco strategy, implemented into BB. It does exactly what it is meant to do. And, yes, BB is hardcoded into Daily TF, no matter which chart you use.

Thanks dragosd. You have put my mind to rest. I found the Carolco post about the strategy again and it is doing what it is supposed to do !!!

Thank you.
