Nice to hear you are also trying the systems on lower TF. I am mostly a 5M and 15M trader. I am starting to trade the 1.0 and 10.0 systems live on 5M and 15M now. So far 100% success on 6 trades. I am entering manually because I am not getting the EA´s triggered for some reason. Did you modify the EA´s for lower TF?.

The 5x5 is hard coded for the 1H you can go into the code and change it or post the EA here and I will change it to what you want. I can make it work on any TF.

Bob, I would appreciate greatly if you could change the 2 EAs attached to 15 minute bars.

I am manually running live and it seems the 15M is by far the most successful so far.

I did not change the TMA or the 5x5. I did change the 240 (From the Weekly) to 960 (240 x 4 = 960) on the 15M chart. Everything else remains the same. So far, 100% success rate on the 15 with my trend definition, not the original 1.0 trend definition.

My trend definition is:

Long: Light Blue smoothed centerline of TMA real time value is higher than same line close of a bar ago.

Short: Light Blue smoothed centerline of TMA real time value is lower than same line close of a bar ago.

I am entering longs only below the Green TMA Band and shorts only above the Red TMA Band, so if the 5x5 cross is on the other side of the line, the trade is not entered.

I am exiting the longs on cross of Red TMA Band and shorts on cross of Green TMA Band.

Not using stops. I´ll use recovery trades if necessary.

Bob, I think this can be all programmed into a good stand alone EA. What do you think? I´ve gone back visually for over one year with 100% success rate.

For some reason, I cannot seem to open a demo account on either Alpari UK nor FXDD Malta. I guess I'm the one doing something wrong but I just cant understand. Not doing anything different from what i normally do to open a demo account. Has anyone ever experience this problem and can assist please?

Alrighty I checked out your system and it looks amazing in backtesting.

However if I change the TMA to true the backtesting is nowhere near as good. I know there have been heaps of discussions about the TMA repainting(?) and why it does not matter for the system but I can't see as many good setups happening as you are trading live.

Could you keep us posted as to how you get on with your strategy? It looks too good to be true with normal settings in backtesting and I think the reason is because of the TMA repainting.

Also, I'm using 240 setting with the 15min TF.. If I use 960 the MA can swap from above to below changing my view of the trend. Should I be using 960 on 15min to determine trend if I'm using 15min to trade?

Yes. I know about the backtesting issue. I´m as skeptical as you on the backtesting results, however, the current bar, on which the decision to place the trade is based, is accurate. So far, I have placed 15 live trades and all of them have crossed to the other band. 100% success. regarding the 240 or 960 MA, it is really irrelevant. The trend is determined EXCLUSIVELY by the TMA condition. I´ll update you on future trades as they develop.

Ok, Gotcha! So are you not using the 240/960 MA and instead looking at the middle TMA line and using that to determine trend as you described?

Yes. I am ignoring the 240 /960 completely. I´ll throw in another one. I´ve noticed that on some of the trades, the TMA repainted as I look back where I entered, so the original trend signal has changed. I´ve also placed 4 trades disregarding the TMA condition and they were also successful. It seems that the real winner is taking the trade ONLY if the 5x5 cross occurs on the opposite (far) side of the bar. This is working also on Crude, Gold and S&P. I haven´t tried it on stocks yet.

Could you please upload a template for the 15M TF because some of us do not even know how to change the settings. Would save a lot of questions. Thank in advance & best wishes.
Nice thread, I like how you describe trending and ranging market. I will review your another thread about trading in a ranging market. This two weeks trading EURUSD I've seen many ranging days and it was too late when I finally recognize it, I keep using trend following system there. I am a bit frustrated in a ranging market not because I lost pips but looking at sluggish PA and no clear direction hit my confidence. Thanks in advance.

PS: How you trade without SL scared me, but if you're doing good then I think it's okay.

Here are the template and indicators. Copy the indicators to the Experts/Indicators folder. Copy the template to the Templates folder. Change the TF to 15M and you should be done.

Thank you for the kind gesture. My MT4 platform crashes when ever I load the template or add the indicators to my chart. Kindly look into it again.
