Yep. I got it as well. Oanda. 178 pip drop at 5 pm EST. I suppose the SNB went to sleep for a few minutes.

Good man. Hope for your sake you can keep it that way. Ignorance is bliss, and leads to the banking of many, many pips.

TPC you beat me to it! I'll post my chart anyway. Can't have too many good-looking CZs!

I drew this box manually when it was about 19 bars old, hoping the indi would kick in, too - and it did! I set the email alarm so it's probably going to wake me up tonight. That's ok to make pips!

I saw those short trades andri took this morning on eu and gu but I chickened out cuz we were at some resistance lines, and it broke right through. I'm still kicking myself over that. Gotta learn to trust the system!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Just moments ago we had another CZ box form on GU! I have again set the email alarm (it emails a text message to my phone) because the breaks always happen right around London open when I'm in deep REM sleep.

Well, it made a valiant effort to get there, but yet I've come up a little short. I still think it will get there, but I guess I should have given myself a little more time. Maybe it'll reach it in the second CZ that popped up, who knows. Since I'm a man of my word, I'll have to concede to the macman this time.

The only problem now is trying to find a place in the UK that'll let a bloke from the states pay for your steak over the phone! Maybe I'll just have to PayPal you some cash and you can go where you wish, fair enough?

I was just looking at the same charts, jaw hanging open, trying to figure out what happened with that spike.

Here is the v1.13 version of the indi.

It mainly provides improvements on the statistical area:

- the indicator now simulates "trades" taken from the trade signals, and cumulates the "best result" for each "trade", not just the best-buy/best-sell per session/box;
An "open trade session" is "closed" when trade would hit the SL, but the actual "pip count" taken for this trade is its best positive extension (best swing before the SL is hit);
A new box forming also closes any open "trade session".
Only ONE trade is taken...

Could you convert this indicator for FT tester, it was seem brilliant...sq, great job..

From DJ newswire: Apparently there was a big order of about $.5B by a non-Japanese bank. They were trying to imitate Japan MOF's intervention to attempt to scare other traders and banks according to a couple of major Tokyo bank dealers. They said they didn't think the order was all that big - I guess everything is relative one way or another!

G/U M15 is looking particularly interesting right now. The last 20 bars are extremely tight, like about 20 pips high only. I can't wait to see how this looks 10 hours from now.

@Squalou : Thanks a lot Sir for the new indy ..
@ coxsox : i close my trade on eu & gu earlier due to signals from other set up that i use to help define entry & exit(this thread is for FH breakout so it's irrelevant )..well , sometimes your set up is right & sometime is wrong..Only market is Right.
I'm excited to see if those MPC meeting + FOMC results will give a huge breakout to GU..now just waiting till there's a real breakout.

Good Luck !!

Hi people, nice to meet you.
A big thank you to FH, squalou, but also all the other members here for the great help and contribution.
It took me more than a week of my (very few) spare time for reading the whole thread, now.

So, before starting, I have a question (I hope) was never made such a way.

FH, in many places (e.g. Post #1380) you suggest setting up squalou indicator with a precise method/aim. What you do is looking for the average box size with a "master template" and then use this value as the fixed one for one pair/instrument switching the "AutoBoxRange" feature off.

Why?

I think one of the best features of the wonderful squalou's code is trying to be "adaptive" (in the Kaufman's sense) to changing market conditions. Volatility is... very volatile in many markets. A significant consolidation area on a pair can be maybe 20 pips one week and 23 two weeks later... or not? And, even if it's constant, squalou's AutoBoxRange feature will take care of it (simply because ATR won't change, on average, in a constant volatility environment).

Bye

sGU just triggered.

we have MPC coming up and congestion below and nearly at bottom of a 1000pip run but these things are supposed to be irrelevant, just follow the rules. 30/30 TP/SL.

LOL - you don't need to pay me anything, check out my post #1440. The value of my steak dinner goes to your favourite charity - btw steak dinners are expensive in this neck of the woods ....

If we look at yesterday's events on GU, we see that it only really rose on the back of the earlier EUR climb, but once SNB intervened, you were pretty much dead in the water IMHO.

In a 'normal' market your bet would have been better than the 50-50 odds I gave it, but this is anything but normal times.

Have a great day & let me know when you have more money up for grabs
