Thanks for your hard work ! Your indicators are very great ! Do you realize what you achieve WOOW !

I see a problem of repainting in colored stoch, don't know if this is normal or not.

When i reactualise the indic, some portion of blue disappeared and it was all red : REPAINT !

Please check it, or tell me if i'm wrong .

These indicators build the other timeframe internally.

On a standard indicator, MT4 holds the last bar that it received a tick for, because these are specialized it doesn't hold such a value

Therefore if there is a disconnect from the broker (or you are running a lot cpu intensive operations and MT4 can't process all the ticks) a normal indicator can handle this, however as these indicators cannot use the standard recovery options available it can cause the internal data to be corrupted, hence giving invalid values.

At the moment I am trying to think of a solution so that the indicator realizes when it is using corrupted data and automatically perform a refresh, I have an idea for a solution but testing it is proving difficult as I can't get MT4 to cause the corruption when I want.

Nice work, and thanks. There may be an alternate way to calculate the interpolation. It should avoid the corruption and extensive calculations that you describe, but I have not found a way to generalize.

The method involves keeping a set of arrays for the pertinent variables, and then using those arrays in a normal calculation. e.g. to calculate the ATR you need the High,Low, Close. So to calculate the H1 ATR for display at M5 intervals you need 12 High arrays, 12 Low arrays and the M5 Close. In each of the High arrays you keep the highest high for the last 12 M5 bars, etc. The arrays must be synced to the particlar M5 interval in the hour, so that an ATR calculation using a specific array always displays at the right time.

This method has the advantage that each interpolated point uses the same amount of data.. a sliding window of constant size. It has the disadvantage that a new indicator must be written for each TF ratio, and the bar-sync logic must change for each of these.

I wonder whether you considered this approach and discarded it for the approach you have taken? I am about to give up on this, and simply wait for your excellent indicators.

I tried lots of different methods for the interpolation

In the end this was the best solution I found, and it works fine until there is a disconnect or for some other reason it misses some important ticks (most important one being the very last tick of a bar)

Also with this method, one indicator works for all timeframes and also allows me to take advantage of when MQL already provides a iXXXOnArray function.

My proposed solution is coded in test, I have it running on my MT4 and at some point a corruption should occur, and my indicator should fix it

Hopefully within the next 24hrs I will get confirmation of this fix working, once it does - the 4 indicators currently available will be re-uploaded with the fix

P.S. Thanks though for "thinking outside the box" in trying to help me with a solution, as a prize let me know if there is a particular indicator you want "Ultra-ing"

Just give you the normal gann hilo activator version, because the bar version i have is copyrighted.

Great idea think this has been going on for a couple years elsewhere, the multi timeframe usually making the indicator smoother then can cut down on other smoothing to reduce lag. This indicator using hourly values on 15 minute chart. Showing the ultra version alongside non ultra.

Hi Mike

yes, it's just a case of me finding the time to do them

the idea is that by the end all standard mt4 indicators will be done, as well as a few of the more popular "custom" ones

Keep on checking back every so often for updates

Thanks for Your hard work and sharp thinking. I tried to accomplish something like MadCow in a MTF MACD indicator, but got stuck as my programming knowledge is still limited as well as my time. See http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=300820

In reply to MadCows suggestion about a sliding window wouldn't it be possible to write a MTF indicator (covering all timeframe ratios) using the modulus function as in my post http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...52#post4737752.

Reference timeframe or higher timeframe as an external parameter:
external integer TimeFrame

...and using the modulus function:
So if delta = TimeFrame/Period()
Then we can test the condition:

if (bar % delta == 0)
All the bars that will return true to this condition should be included in the new MTF array used for the MACD (or other MTF indicator) calculation.

If the chart timeframe is M5 and the higher reference timeframe is H1, then
delta = 60/5 = 12

if (bar % delta == 0) would then return the bars at shift 0, 12, 24, 36, 48 etc. because only these numbers will return a whole number when divided by 12 (delta). Any other bar (eg. bar 37) will return a decimal number when divided by 12.

I hope this suggestion can be of use to You - now or later...
