Attached you will find an ichimoku expert advisor.
(edit: a link to the post with the newest version of the EA you find at the end of this post)

I think the settings of the EA are self explanatory.
Feel free to play around with various settings and/or to make changes.

I am still learning how to program and/or make changes of existing programs, so there is no guarantee that the EA is free of mistakes.

In the settings you can choose which kind of ichimoku signals (kumo / chikou) you want to trade (all, normal, strong signals).

The EA trades 15 pairs without to have all the charts open.
Further you are able to choose if you want to stop trading on friday (GMT-time). ATR-based calculation of SL/TP is included.

EA should work with ECN also (first sends order, then attempt to modify for tp/sl).

important: Please use on demo first (or only)!
What you MUST change in the settings is your GMT-timezone. Actually it is set to 6 (GMT + 6), otherwise the EA will not work correctly is you set stop trading on friday to true!
If you did the right setting, you will find the current day and time on the left side of the screen

To learn more about the ichimoku, just visit

or http://www.forex-tsd.com/general-dis...chimoku-2.html (english)
or use the search function at forexfactory (e.g.: http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=239932 )

Many thanks especially to Steve Hopwood (http://www.forexfactory.com/stevehopwood)
and Mark Johnson (Scooby-Doo, http://www.forexfactory.com/scooby-doo) for their contributions at forexfactory.com!

EDIT: please find the newest version of the EA here:
http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...34#post4722534

EDIT Dec/10/2012: As promised, revised v2.0 attached.
Further you find a third version (with changed logics and based on a modified shell ea code (which is by Steve Hopwood)). I am not sure if it is totally bug-free, ... - edit: it was not.
In >= version 3 you have the opportunity die receive emails. The ea is able to use the (working) mt4i email library, for infos see also: mt4i.com/appstore/app.aspx?id=17

edit: found some bugs, new version 3.0a attached.
The ea is based on the reworked version of steve hopwoods shell ea, see details for that version in steves thread here (or, if you prefer german, see also here)

edit: version 4.0, less bugs

Thanks fxdaytrader_

Any good results to far with the ea? Tried to make something similar some time ago. The point with ichimoku was (for me) that it gave far to many false signals to make something profitable from it, and it's hard to try and filter some of them out.

Hope this one is going to work out for you however

Thanks for this EA I thought it's not possible to create an EA for Ichimoku. At a time it was my favorite system, but will give this EA a chance next week.

I am not sure, before I made one indicator for the signals. That one seemed to work well, very well.
I think the EA should work also well (and profitable) - BUT I am sure that would be a matter of the settings AND the SL/TP-management AND timeFrame.

Why do you think that it is not possible? I think it is possible!
And I am sure around here we have lots of good coders (better ones than me, I am still learning!), and if I did mistakes regarding the ichimoku-logics, I am sure we will find them and correct them!

I love simplicity of Ichimoku, but I never made it work...

This EA will be a great tool to test the method!

Thanks a stack!

great idea, thanks

the logic would be then:
only enter trade if e.g. (TF1 == long && TF2 == long), vice versa for short.

further I will add the function to only trade the pair of the current chart
PM me with coding requests and I'll probably put you on my ignore list

yes of course but the second is retracement for example TF1=long and TF2=short the trade is short but TP=10 If TF1=long TF2=long TP=50 etc.

the news function uses an icustom command to " Economic News" . Which indicator is it? And why that one and not FFcal?

in this part of the EA settings, in your case you want it to be like this:

extern string hl1 = "+--- EA specific parameters:";
extern string ihint0 = "Tenkan Sen Period:";
extern int tenkanSen = 72; // 7
extern string ihint1 = "Kijun Sen Period:";
extern int kijunSen = 144; // 22
extern string ihint2 = "Senkou Span B Period:";
extern int senkouSpanB = 288; // 44

That function is not in use. Maybe we can implement it in the EA also.

I assume that the "economic news"-incdicator is similar or equal to the FFcal indicator.
Some month ago I downloaded it here at FF´but I forgot the thread.
Attached you will find that one, I changed the url to the news inside the mq4-file (string sUrl = "http://cdn.forexfactory.com/ffcal_week_this.xml" because:
not working: http://cloud.forexfactory.com/ffcal_week_this.xml
working: http://www.forexfactory.com/ff_calendar_thisweek.xml

ido370 answered the question above.

Btw, if not already done, please read that thread here (I linked it in my first post above also), it is a good explanation of the ichimoku-instruments given by the FF-member diavolul: http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=239932
