Welcome on board, nice to have you here! Are you already a little succesful?
When you want to post a chart you just have to make a screenshot and press 'upload from computer', which you can find at the bottom of this reply, next to: attach files. To make a screenshot on a mac you just have to press cmd-shift-4 and than select the chart (or any part of your screen) with your mouse. A windows machine has probably a similar trick, isn't it printscreen and than control -V or something?

I have a question/request to anyone who can make EA's for backtesting purposes. I would like to know the difference between two strategies.

first strategy: TMS with just a crossing over of the green and red line and stochastics going up (down) but not overbought (oversold)

second strategy: TMS like Dean Malone does it: only enter when green crosses red ánd yellow ánd the 50-line ánd stochastics going up (down) but not overbought (oversold).

I'm having a hard time buiding these EA's, they don't work, but if someone can help me with this backtesting, I would really appreciate it. It's all about the difference of the two strategies.

Off course it won't be the same as manually trading because those EA's don't look at all the other factors, but it's just for comparison. I think the first one will have a lot of setups but also more losers and the other will have less setups but less losers, but is this true? From what I saw while I was manually backtesting this is true, but which strategy is really more succesful?

Or, to make things easier, does anyone know if this has been backtested before?

Hi gbmcgee,

I remember that I owe you this reply but I had a busy week with my own trading team.

Here is a chart showing the ADR Pro and my own Average Weekly Range shown.

I have been comparing both and come to my conclusion which I adopted for my 4H swing trading.
My Average Weekly range is calculated as follows:
Average of the Sum of the 52weeks ATR + 104weeks ATR

and I use 60% to set my target profit planning when Market type is wdie range sideways.
When there is breakout into a trend, target can be set to 100%. These have been back-tested and work well.

The ADR Pro has a more complex calculation using the summation of the various daily traded ranges only and has several intermediate levels which also act at target profit levels and also for breakout when market is volatile.

thats a very kind offer i would really like to know how to start going about, as you say, attacking the market with consistency and confidence like emmanual. been trading automated and manual for a few years now but with no consistency.

unfortunately 7am CDT dovetails exactly with the start of work tomorrow. is there a way that you could make the webinar available to see subsequently / even if its for a limited time only?

Hi Dabbleljoe,

Try these two at this forum. They are simple and you can adapt with the TDI conditions you want for back-testing.

Should be easy when you know how to use the iCustom() command to read the TDI conditions.

To summarise where I am in my trading journey, I started learning to trade about 8 months ago. I've been studying intensively, and had a lot of screen time over the last 8 months, also trading a small micro account, to get some live experience. I've started loosing less, in the last month or so with more breakeven / winners, so I guess I'm on my way to success, but I'm under no elusions as to what is required in the long term to become truly successful (although I did started out with all the typical 'newbie' misconceptions). My goal between now and the end the year is not to make money but to learn to trade (profitably - We have to have goals right?). I am starting to get better at entries and exits. I'm still evolving my overall trading plan, in to something that works for me. Are you a full time trader of TMS?

When I grow up I want to trade like a pros....but right now, still not yet a pro, my next step is to become a Super Trader ......still have plenty work on and many milestones along this trading journey.

I Have Learned to Take Some Losses to Make Profits
I'm sorry if this has been asked a million times before, Its not a new question I'm sure, (feel free to tell me I havent done my homework), but if I'm manually back testing my different TMS entries / exits in the simplest manner possible (F12 key on MT4?) for statistical purposes, and I want to add a criteria say taking trades in the momentum of the weekly / monthly PA / EMA, whats the easiest way of checking this? I find it extremely time consuming having to flick to a weekly chart from the daily / 4 hourly, then work out which weekly bar my signal has appeared in, and therefore only scroll the weekly chart forward enough so I dont see the completed week in which my signal appeared (and therefore get a look in to the future) - Is there an easier way of doing this or an indi that can help? If there is no other way, there is no other way I guess but just thought I would ask....

Hi guys, I entered 2 GBPJPY trades earlier....

1st trade: Entered once the 2nd bar cross the EMA and TDI crossing. SL at previous high.

2nd trade: Entered once the 3rd bar which is on retracement ended up closing below EMA again. Switched to APB to check and confirm the bar colour. APB still red colour despite having long wick.

1st trade: +18 now.
2nd trade: +40 now...

Looking to close both trades soon and enjoy my weekend happily...

Would appreciate any good or bad comments!
