Xm.com has been great for me for the last few years as I have been in and out of the forex market. Most recently though I deposited a $100 USD back into my account with little problems. When I wanted to deposit another $100 a few weeks later (Feb 20, 2017) my card was declined.
I called my CC company and my available credit was well in excess of the deposit amount, and my CC company has no record of me trying to make a payment to XM.
I emailed XM and asked what was going on with my CC, and they replied with vague answers and told me I have been blocked from depositing with a CC. Not just the one I tried all credit cards. Anyone that works for XM can you please tell me what is going on?

OK XM, perhaps one of the most critical members of this forum is ready to give your MT4 platform a go....me

Will try the demo for a while before opening a real account, want to try my EAs, check out your spreads for the different pairs, see how you work with SWAPs, customer service, etc.

Let's see how this goes!

First questions...

NOTE: all these questions are about your MT4 platform.

1) Are your spreads on demo and live EXACTLY the same, or is there even the SLIGHTEST of differences?

2) Is your MT4 execution on a demo account and live EXACTLY the same, or is there even the SLIGHTEST of differences?

3) Are there any differences between demo and live I should know beforehand?

Thanks!

Dear meyoik,

1. Spreads on demo accounts opened on Standard mirror Exactly a Standard Live Account, Spreads on XM Zero accounts mirror exactly a live XM Zero Account.
2. Execution is exactly the same.
3. No differences (Trading Wise) between demo and live.

Thank you,

Dear SeanSalsa,

As noted in our reply to meyoik our demo accounts mirror our live accounts.

You can feel free to open a demo and a live side by side and experience this for yourself.

Thank you,

I love XM but they limit number of demo accounts and I don't seem to find a way to reset demo accounts :-(
I need a lot of testing before using EAs. So I need a way to reset demo accounts on XM. Can anyone help?

What about slippage? Do stop orders have slippage on demo the same as on live? Can I buy or sell 50 lots (market order on live account) anytime without causing slippage?

Dear insomniawawa,

Slippage is something not related to a client trading on a demo or a live account. Slippage can occur on both a demo and live account in the same way.

In order to understand it better you must understand the following:

In a very fast moving market, during times of very important economic releases prices can experience sharp rise or falls.

During those milliseconds, which elapse from the time you click buy or sell on your screen until our nearest datacenter (server) confirms the order and fills you at the market price, the price might move, so your order will be filled in at the price showed at the millisecond your order arrives at the server for confirmation.

Any company promising you that slippage can never occur during sharp rises or falls in prices is falsifying facts and is unreal.

I hope you appreciate my transparent answer.

Hi XM,

I just came across what I think will be a deal breaker when it comes to opening a real account with XM....your SWAP charges are the highest I have seen in a long time!! 21+ EUR for 1 lot for 2 days !!!!! Is this correct??

Could you explain to me exactly how you calculate SWAPs?

Dear meyoik,

XM applies a 3-day rollover strategy only on Wednesdays to level the gap from weekends.

@XM, can you suggest your IT department to add functionality to reset demo accounts to initial balance ? (maybe just a link on your web page)

I know how slippage works, but on demo account there's usually no slippage at all. Moreover big orders cause slippage by itself. XM allows max 50 lots orders, so I understand that 50 lots order doesn't cause slippage, right?
For example: Buy order 500 lots, market depth:
1,20101 20 lots
1,20102 3 lots
1,20103 10 lots
1,20104 7 lots and so on.
1,2013 last order that will be executed to buy 500 lots, order caused 2,9 pip slippage. This is how it works on real market.

Getting Slippage or not depends on market conditions. U don't get slippage when there is no competition and could get a few hundred pips slippage when everyone is going the same direction and on one wants to fill ur order. In other words, no one want to trade against u. Lol
U will get slippage even when trade 1 lot with XM. Slippage I experienced with XM is less than what I got from ic market, fxopen, darwinex, global prime etc. It make sense to me

Regarding slippage, I wonder how market makers handle this? Isnt XM taking the opposite of your trade so automatically is your counter party of the trade? So when slippage occurs with this broker does it mean XM doesnt want to buy from you at this price?

What's the problem for XM taking the opposite side?
Market maker can fill most orders internally. How they handle the unmatched flow is the real question.
