The candle that is checked is a proper trigger candle. It happens to be 30 pips in total length. EA needs to count 30 + spread + 1 pip. So say the spread is 2. So 30 + 2 +1 =33. I need EA for this trade to set BE at +33. At +66 TP still set at BE. At +99 I need the EA to set TP at +66. At +132 EA sets TP to+99. At +165 EA sets TP to +132 ect. Stoploss is perfect as is currently programed. EA needs to do this automatically in case a trigger bar gets broken in the middle of the night.

Too much drip-feeding information, so I have deleted my post with the first version of the ea.

Let me know if you are able to put together a spec that actually describes the bot you want and I will consider coding it, if I have time.

The bot was perfect the way you had it programmed except I'm looking for the EA to automatically set BE and TP as I described in my last post. By counting the candle length + spread + 1. If you can't do this can you post the original again. At least it will get you into a trade properly. thanks

I have added the spread + 1 to the breakeven calculations. I am not sure the coding logic is correct, so watch the performance tomorrow.

I don't know whether this will be as useful now that there is an EA. But below is an indy that identifies the trigger bars H-H, H-L or L-L, L-H coupled with candle length which you can set (default 50) and candle body size set at less than or equal to 50% of candle size. As you can see from the picture sell tigger bars are painted magenta and buy bars aqua.

Thank you for the indicator saintmo. I don't see any place in the properties to adjust candle body max. Some of those trigger candles on your chart have bodies more than 50% of the total candle length??? thanks

You can now also adjust bodylength (default .5). Should be OK now.

Don't know if Steve is tied up with other projects. EA is not respecting the 50SMA. It should be only looking for buys above the 50SMA/sells below. It sold here above the 50 and also no trigger candle. Running on the tester I also saw it buy below the 50. Saintmo, what do you think? thanks

I can look at it but won't have a chance to review it in any depth until early tomorrow morning. (I am on CST.)

We're not there yet. EA should be looking for a break of the low on this bar for a sell and it bought. I have it on 5M charts to get it to trade a lot.

What happened here is this:

 

  1. T spotted the sell trigger candle. Market was below the ma, so trading direction was down.
  2. Market moved above the ma, reversing the trading direction. T spotted a break of the trigger high line and so took the buy.

I have to think about what to do about this.
