I set up your robot this morning and made 10 pips today :-) What is max spread to use to keep high win rate. Also, what is the average stoploss amount it uses?

I wouldn't go using this EA in a live account. You'll lose money guaranteed.

Version 1.2

Changed entry from level sensitive to edge sensitive. Instead of taking every trade where fisher > 0.25 or < -0.25, take only transitions from below to above 0.25 and above to below -0.25. Still filter on PSAR position.

The win rate has increased from 88.4% to 91% and the average loss increased from 1.15 to 1.27. Expectancy:

(0.91 x 0.10) - (0.09 x 1.27) = 0.091 - 0.1143 = -0.0233

Expectancy has improved but is still negative.

Also the number of trades has decreased from about 1000 to 167 (no surprise).

I ran the optimizer on it for laughs and a TP of 14 pips has positive expectancy - just barely.

I thought that the filter of only trading when price breaks the high/low of the trigger candle was pretty interesting. If you wait for that, you skip the time the trade is working against you and cut out some big losses. Then when price breaks your trigger candle, you have some momentum on your side.

I was just visually backtesting that today when I had a few minutes and that looked to improve things, maybe even allow to use a better R/R ratio, ie. smaller fixed stop loss or larger take profit; perhaps both :-). That filter looked pretty good even on a H1 timeframe. Tomorrow if I have more time, I will look into this further.

Is it possible to code that into the EA?

Found a bug with finding the PSAR flip. This improved the performance even more.

Win rate increased from 91% to 93.9% and average loss increased from 1.27 to 1.51. Expectancy:

(0.939 * 0.10) - (0.061 * 1.51) = 0.0939 - 0.09211 = 0.00179

So expectancy has increased and is just barely positive now.

I ran the optimizer again and 14 pips seems to be the best TP setting.

great job on the coding ... can you change the lots that are at a fixed amount with a true or false parameter, then add a % of account to trade so it compounds with the wins with also a true or false so if false it will default to the fixed lot price.

Also following a loss could you put a parameter that would double the lot size for the prior loss. For example if we traded .63 and lost 50 pips totaling -$31.00. Then only on the next future trades ( not a martingale ) just double the position side on the loss to .63 * 2 = 1.26 and allow the ea to keep that trade size until it has recovered the full -$31.00 ... even if another loss occurred with a double position and the losing balances combined where -$68 for example it would continue till it recovered all the loss then default back to the % of risk per trade on the account.

I tested over 2 years and show 151 wins 10 losses with a net profit but it would become huge profit with this updates to the ea?

It's more complicated than the basic system.

I am sure it is complicated ... when I run the test with the fixed lot and then after a loss I show the next trade still taking at that fixed lot parameter. I am doing it correctly ??

Version 1.4

Added one time position size doubling after a loss.

What I did was add 2 parameters to the EA.

1) DoubleAfterLoss (default = false) turns on the feature.
2) LossRecoveryFactor (default = 2) is how much to multiply the base size by.

So if you set DoubleAfterLoss to true, it will double the lot size after a 1x loss and try to recover the loss. If you want to be more aggressive, you can set LossRecoveryFactor to something higher.

The backtest showed some rough periods between 1/1/09 and now where you'd really be wondering why you're trading this system LOL.

This feature does improve the overall profitability of the system but you don't get a smooth equity curve either.

Next version will allow some kind of position sizing where the base position grows as account balance increases.

What lot size and recovery factor are you using? Does it only fail when DoubleAfterLoss is true?
Also, was the previous version working?

I am using .01 lot, double after loss false, loss recovery factor 2

How about instead of doubling each lot after a loss until it is recovered, you increased the lot of just the very next trade after the loss so that a win would cover all of the loss? Do this only once, so in the rare instance there are 2 losses in a row, you wouldn't do it again.

Were the previous versions not doing this?
