DislikedBefore I comment on any of the previous posts I have a confession to make and I have to apologise to many members of this thread.
I made a stupid error, an assumption that resulted in much of the confusion regarding the GMT offset and start time settings.
I assumed that Alpari time was GMT +1, I don't know where I got this idea from but it started right at the begining of the thread and has messed up my thinking all the way through.
So all olong I have been saying that my start time is the Tokyo opening time when in fact my start...Ignored

DislikedThanks for clarifying that Geoff. So just to reconfirm, if we Set the Start time as 23 and set the correct GMT Offset (2 for Alpari), it should work fine correct?..Ignored

DislikedHi Geoff,
Thankyou for this fantastic system and EA.
I has been awesome on my Demo account but I have not been able to get it place a trade on my LIVE account.
Would you know any reason for this.
I am with Go Markets Australia and they are +2 GMT.
I have all the serttings same as mt demo and yet still no trades.
HELP
And thanks in advance.Ignored
DislikedHi Geoff,
yes you were spot on with your assumption indeed. I reran the backtest with 1.7 pips spread today, and was able to almost get same 1 year result as you, with USD 4850 profit, PF 2.9 and 94 % winners, which would be excellent if could achieve on real account.
Only remaining difference now was I had 2 losses on 11th March, which had been winners on your test....Ignored
DislikedI am not sure if the EA will work on ECN or not, I have not tested it so I decided to say that it won't work rather than have people lose money!
I can open an ECN demo account with Alpari to test it but I haven't had the time to do it yet.
Your idea to increase the lot size the next day after a loss is very good, I will add your "aggressive" option to the next issue.Ignored
DislikedLooks to me the code is not ENC/STP compatible. But there may be a work around by using Hide_Target=TRUE which might get the trades to goes through. I will give it a try.Ignored
DislikedI got 2 shorts at exactly 25 minutes after Tokyo open using Alpari UK demo...and to be honest, while being happy that GBPUSD is lower now, I do not really understand why it sold either......Ignored
DislikedHi,
This is all very strange, im on Alpari UK, so have GMT Offset set to 2 and start time at 0, everything else is default.
At 2am this morning it opened two BUY orders which are actually still open , see screenshot, lucky its a demo account!
Anybody else have the same orders?

DislikedI think, you need to set the Start time to 23 and GMT Offset to 2 to have the correct working of this EA.
Close the existing order, change the setting and wait for tomorrow....:-)Ignored
Dislikedtrade_hour = Start_Time+GMToffset
trade_hour is set to 23:00 GMT.
so the settings are
GMToffset = the broker's timezone-2
(ie your broker is GMT-4, GMToffset is -6)
Start_Time = 1
or
GMToffset = the broker's timezone
Start_Time = 23
is this right?Ignored
DislikedHere is my chart showing last nights trades, you can see which candle I use as my start time.Ignored

DislikedMany thanks to Geoff for sharing the EA. The backtest results for 12mths ago were excellent but i wonder if it was highly optimised for the specific period of time. I tried with data with years ago and ended up with losses.Ignored
DislikedHi Geoff
I have two question Edit:I can see that You already answered them, thanks for this promising EA and all Your work
When I read the rules on the first page I think the EA is supposed to place the trade at Start time (GMT 23.00)? It does not. Mine took its trade GMT 23.35
What is the condition for the EA to place a trade?
When EA placed its trade price (1.5479) whas over SMA10. I think it price whas over SMA10 on the picture from Your post 660. EA placed a sell. If price is over SMA wouldnt it buy?Ignored
