I didn't say the dollar was weak. I said "weak dollar news". The most notable economic numbers have missed expectations this week... consumer confidence & GDP specifically.
Cheers

A couple of better-than-expected Looney numbers with a couple of lower-than-expected Dollar numbers and TP's hit. If you remember from previous posts, that started as just a quick scalp. Turned into a full blown position. After missing the big kiwi move that's a nice way to close the week Cheers

A slow start to the week for UC.... but my buy limit did get filled...bearly.What I really wanted was the sell to hit first because in the long-term, I'm much more technically bullish on this pair right now for what I think are obvious reasons when you look at the weekly chart. We'll see what the 🏛 fundamental 's have to say about it. Cheers!

Any chance that this will still test 1.3183 - 1.3200 in your opinion?

I already stated in a previous post that a retest of 32 was certainly possible. All depends on the rest of the news Thursday and Friday

My previous trade with a couple of additions, hit profit at 3360 I started re-entering on a small pull back thinking that with the stronger $ news the weekly 20 ma support would hold.... but no such luck but 3300 held it. The price has now stalled a bit in the last hour and a half. So I am considering closing this position since it is well into profit. Start getting back in on any pullbacks.... even a pull back to 3200.

Closed at 3355. The hourly chart is really looking like a pull back. See what tomorrow brings.

Pattern: Bullish symmetrical triangle

According to the chart of M5, USDCAD formed the Bullish symmetrical triangle pattern, which signals the trend will continue. Description. The upper border of the pattern touches the coordinates 1.3345/1.3361 whereas the lower border goes across 1.3372/1.3361. The pattern width is measured on the chart at -27 pips. If the Bullish symmetrical triangle pattern is in progress during the upward trend, this indicates the current trend will go on. In case 1.3361 is broken, the price could continue its move toward 1.

The M5 and M15 time frames may have more false entry points.

Closed this position ahead of the news. I think the Loonie has a better chance of beating expectations than the dollar, so we might see a pullback. buy limits are still in place

Cheers!

Major pairs making new lows but usd-cad is not making new highs. Think pair is getting tired.
