Only know about these guys from the awesome film 'Vanishing point'Ignored
Cheers Hal,
Delaney & Bonnie were from an amazing era imo.
The “Friends” part of the band of D&B included the great Bobby Whitlock on keyboards and other instruments, Leon Russell & his delta lady Rita Coolidge (the Joe Cocker sing) , Carl Radle on bass. Plus Eric Clapton played with D&B for a while also during his hiatus period after Cream. When Eric went off with his Derek & the Dominos period most of the backing group from D&B including Bobby Whitlock went with him.
Here’s a podcast interview with Bobby Whitlock and his wife Coco Carmel talking some history and Delaney & Bonnie.
(Bobby also mentions the Carol Kaye sessions too, another whole story lol)

It could be said that Delaney & Bonnie () were in some way to America like John Mayall was to the UK, with his Blues Breakers, in that so many talented folk went through their band first in their formative stages before moving on elsewhere.
And here’s a studio cut with Eric, Bobby, Carl & Jim from the amazing Layla album

Keep an eye out for the Layla Studio Outtake Jams from that album also (spesh Jam #4) where Bobby says in another interview that they just left the tapes running during the sitdowns without knowing what they were getting on the reel lol.
