In my humble opinion it is premature to be opening short positions on this pair, even if just for scalping. In any case, take care to manage your risks well and never bet the farm

Good morning everyone. Well, it looks like overnight we had the channel ceiling overshoot that I had been posting about here. These moves are usually found at the end of a trend. What will probably follow now will be a gradual retrace to at least the bottom of the channel around 0.82 to 0.83. However, current price action does not allow for entering short with reasonable stops. I will wait until hopefully I get a daily bar that allows me to enter with small stops. With patience, the market eventually gives such opportunities most of the time

You are welcome. This is trading, sometimes we get it right and sometimes we WILL get it wrong. All we can do is make sure that when we get it wrong, we don't get hurt much because we've "bet the farm" on one position. Moves like the one in GBP are not as unusual as people think. They can and do happen. So make sure you are never caught with your pants down when they do. Don't let margin call be your one and only stop-loss

Back to EUR/GBP, I am in this short punt since 14 Oct. I entered on a retrace after it broke the lows of 13 Oct (that was my signal to enter short). I am trying to position myself for the retrace to at least the beginning of the ascending channel. One of the reasons I entered this short is that it offered a small SL - just above the highs of 13 Oct. SL is still there. I am waiting for a larger bearish bar before I can move the SL

Hello all. Quick update on my short trade of last week: I have now taken some early profits on a small part of the position (just under 90pips) and have moved the stops on the rest to my entry price, so I now have no capital at risk on this short. Stops were initially at the pink line.

I just let it be and hopefully it will continue to move down

Well, the pair is continuing to move south, as I had thought. I see a bull trend forming, the indicator is pointing to enter to sell, i hope i can make some decent money at it.
