It says MissPips because it was my idea and I wrote the version of it between V3 and V4. But I don't have the source code for V4 so I don't know if anything got changed in it and I therefore I can't re-release it. The SAH is better than the THV MTF because, for one thing, even if you are only interested in the trixes, the alarms are better. You can set them for any combination of rows, you can get an email alert and you can get alarms intra bar if you want instead of end of bar. Also control over the timeframes is better. Also you can fit 'more' trix info into the bar if you use the 'both' option (type 15).

Thank you It was great idea to put Trix into MTF. As for me one Trix would not show you all picture of the market. But 4 Trixes in one indicator...are better

First time poster loooong time reading this thread.

Made it to #1000 finally and needed a break. Thanks everyone for your great work.
Is there anybody that is using the THV3 MTF rules that are explained in the PDF manual? As you read through the thread there have been so many changes I was curious if anyone is using this original strategy and that exact setup. Thanks for your input.

Cheers,

Good job Miss Pips, I love what your SAH can do, and it can do so many things. I don't know why people make such a big deal about backtesting it, that is what Demo accounts are for.

He took a bit of a break from forex factory due some health problems with his eyes and some other business interests. Personally, I would not take on republishing all the indicators for MT5 by myself. THV was created by a team with Cobra as the 'head of development.' But many people - around 6 or 7 participated, because it is a lot of work. Even supporting just a couple of indicators as I do is quite a good bit of responsibility I wouldn't want to take on the whole lot on top of learning the newest version of MQL. I wouldn't have the time or patience for for all of them together.

Also, my philosophy about contributing to the forum is to do things that I am interested in or need for myself, and then to share them if I think they are worthwhile - but not necessarily to take on something because somebody asks me to because they happen to need it, unless I also happen to need it, or I happen to be interested in it at the time. I think that that approach is fair enough, because I find that what they used to teach in Econ 101 is true - peoples wants are unlimited, and my time is limited.

Furthermore, I do not believe that MT4 is going out of business so fast or that MT5 will catch on without backward compatibility, except in the US. I think it was rushed into production for the US based brokers so that they could comply with the Dodd-Frank requirements. I guess that in the rest of the world MT4 will be around for quite some time, and that by the time it disappears there will be conversion utilities.

Thank you for your unswer. It was pleasant(good) to hear real thoughts, not political.
But I think you mixed me with somebody. I meant that maybe Cobraforex give you indicators(MTF, Info panel) for repair.

Oh, I see. I thought you meant that he should give me the source for all the indicators so I can convert them allto MT5. He doesn't need to give me the MTF trix for MT4 build 416 because the SAH replaces it and with better features. That is, it can do what the MTF trix can do,
and also more.

The Infopanel was done by someone else - a team contributed to THV and each member was responsible for their own indicators. I do not want to take responsibility for fixing bugs in indicators I didn't code (especially since it's a bug in MT4, not in the indicators, and I just found a workaround for it for the SAH).

Hi Fx Hog,

Well, I don't know if 'anybody' is trading it. I have changed the way I
trade a bit, for a few reasons. First I found it to be just too
tiring to take all those trades on the M1, because it gives you quite
a few, and the statistics that I did were for the results if you took
ALL of them from the German open to the London close, not if you pick and choose. You also have to be really alert to watch for divergences, because the tests included making sure you didn't trade against divergences on the 1m or higher timeframes. Second, at the time I didn't know there was an mtf trix that you could put on the chart and see the actual trix. Third, maybe I am just getting older but now I am pickier about my trades and I like to first look for a place where I think one will happen, and then put them on only if THV confirms them.

So anyway, what I do is look for a place that I expect a
trade to occur ( for example at an SR line or big fib lineand then I look for both price action (like double tops, double bottoms, higher highs and higher lows or vice versa) and THV to confirm or deny it.

For example, in the screenshot below, at the red line, we have an
Asian session range that has been tested a few times, and this range is in
a place where there was a big drop on the 1 hr chart last time we hit it, and we
have a close below it with lower highs and lower lows. The trixes
and corals all confirm the trade, so I took it. (The green MA is the 1m coral, and the orange one is the 15m coral, and in practice I checked the 1m
tf to make sure the 1m trix was turning back down after
the small retrace you can see in the next bar, but it's easier to see on the
5 m chart. I didn't wait for a full retrace up and turn down on the 1m chart because with range breakouts the move is often sharp and a lot of times you don't get very good retraces until it's too far gone. )

At the dashed red line, we have another place
I would expect a trade to occur ( a retest of the
range break and continuation, but the trixes, corals and price action do not confirm the
trade so I didn't take it.

So that's an example of how I use the 6 lights now, but like I said I don't take every setup anymore. At the green dashed line you can see an example of a 'good' 6 lights trade (and if you had taken it on the 1m chart according to the 6 lights rules it would have worked) that I wouldn't take these days because I'd be expecting a bounce a the 15 min coral (the orange line) and the upper triangle line. The Euro might make a break to the upside because there's divergence on the 1 hr chart and a bear flag on the DXY but I'd rather wait and see the outcome and then take a trade if price gets above them and above R, or if price breaks and retests the lower trendline.
