I'm not. I don't set boundaries on topics<->subjects. That is why I learn and why many others waste time with agree/disagree, like/dislike etc etc etc.. You get people offline and see how much they have to say about everything. It's eye opening.

Peter, you know as well as I know idiotic dumb adults don't think, no common sense, argue for argue sake, their ego lie to themself. Ofc the problem points to learning. It's the EGO at the core. 100 years from today, they still wont learn. My posting activity on FF taught me, I learn. Peter, don't waste your time. And you know it. Cheers

And this is where you still have a lot to learn. I don't believe in "the group" I believe in the "person". A group can only exist because of the person in a plural state. So I don't attempt to label everyone as idiotic etc. I shape what I say around the basic idea that "the person", at some point in their week, will be alone, in a room, in the dark, with nothing but their own thoughts. Where devices and tv's are turned off or away, where they cannot escape themself. Where their woes or problems find them. I don't believe or think I'm better than anyone, I simply see their potential and choose to say something.

You do not understand ego. It's not the absence of it, it is the understanding of why it is. It's not about controlling it. It is about living alongside it so it helps not hinders. This is called personal responsibility. Just as it is in trading.

It seems that someone is wrong on the internet.
Could I have an improvement on the previous candle size check, I like that the indicator should check only the last M candles to find and alert existing of engulfing candle and the engulfing should be depend on the size of the candle running previously
1/ if the previous candle has body < 1/2 of range from high of wick to low of tail then engulfing only when current caclde at least 1.2x the sizeof previous candle
2/ the previous candle has body > 1/2 of range from high of wick to low of tail then engulfing alert only when current caclde at least 2x the size of previous candle
Could I have a multiple factoe as variable I can set like 1.2xMultiple, or 2xMutiple with Mutiple default =1

I will agree that very few make it, but some do and with proofs. Tom Hougaard is one of them (trading live, not recorded live and THEN published online which is NOT the same thing). If he can do it, so can we. Its not as easy as this of course, but it shows that if one person can reach the "zone of profitability consistently" so can everyone else.

I agree that if one human can do it so can another. The same world is there. He however, has loss periods that would lead anyone to question his approach, his risk appetite, and his status as trader or gambler. He wouldn't be investible for the risk averse folk anchored to 15% annual returns, but is perhaps successful for himself.

ooi, work everything out yourself with input by others. The others part is tricky because there is so much shit to waft through. Multi users are easier to spot now, too. I'm kind of doing a mind wipe and reformatting so to speak. My trading isn't scalable and conditions are not improving. Interest rates are up but FX volatility isn't. Although asia has good moves on some pairs. Central banks driving equities but FA means nothing etc. Look at DAX in the last part of the year. Be careful of narratives: some say stop loss hunting, others say no that's nonsense etc. bs arguments like that can keep you penned into a mindset that limits progress. If it is stop hunting it doesn't matter because you trade around it. If it isn't you still see the same thing and work around it. The skill is more imprtant than the narrative?

I can't comment on the two individuals you mentioned or specifically the content in this thread only to say I do like how BW focussed on 50 pip min movements which is more my focus now moving on from primarily using tedious smaller duration and smaller time frame trading.

Hard work and discipline are key to unlock the success in trading. There are also tonnes of useless stuff spewed around by FF members in different thread confusing traders even further. I started focusing on the DOL and WOL as mentioned by BW. Above DOL - Buy, Below DOL - Sell. Hey hey, something so simple yet has profound impact on trading.

I day trade the US30 and on a lower timeframe. Shouldn't be a problem trading other instruments.

I have read, the book, and i understand the paradox of Real time vs Rabbit holes. but after reading the book you have only two options, either become a speculator( lucky retail trader) or a professional who is doing hedging and arbitrageur like a sports like performance based activity... but the nuances and intricacies are much much complicated..
A. Norden method (manual HFT) can not be applied to modern day high frequencies market where QAUNTS deploy machine learning algorithm, in a sense gary norden is trying to find a space with old outdated method of Non directional high speed scalping today, but today its no more a human job...

B. Norden himself accepts the fact that he is not a credible authority for this book, the book trying to debunk pseudoscience of technical analysis, he wrote clearly in the book that he is not a scientist, a mathematician or a academic.. (so, by his own criteria we can not take his thesis too seriously). why? here is the thesis published by credible scientists with plausible empirical evidence of reliability and workablility of Technical chart patterns

So, if you think technical analysis is a complete garbage (sold by financial junk food industry), then take a more logical position and accept the fact that gary nordens DOM trading method is not so less if compared to Qaunts. why trade a 3 second in and out( trade NOW method) why not deploy a bot and trade nanoseconds?

i have observed so far, the only problem with retail crowd is that they read these "POP" books and not research papers accepted by scientific community and in a result they never think in terms of scientific rationalism.

Keyman is logical and sensible on all counts. The 8 yrs experience taught him to differentiate the right from wrong.

Newbies can save 8 years of learning by learning from him. List down what he rejected. Everything on the reject list go to the trash bin. You save 8 years.

That's how smart people fast track themselves. Learn from the right people.
