ADR is acceptable to get an idea of where a high or low may be starting to be put in place. I do not use it. (Not to brag) my PA understanding has gotten to the point I let price, and my few tools, tell me most everything.

On the M1 you can clearly see how price moves. A "trend" starts. This is the rejective property of equilibrium. Price wants to always move away from its equilibrium.

I know this makes for a conundrum. In the one case price wants to come to, and in the other price wants to go away. This is where learning to understand how price moves and start to see when it may possibly move into a range or even reversal. And yes, you can see these moves as price creates certain behaviors.

Dax thus far
Not sure OPEN line helped me here other than to keep me long orientated and long off prior to open levels.
Will price curve back towards the open ?

{quote} With all respect to the EMA traders, my finding is, the EMA's are gr8 in the hindsight for the post-trade analysis but I really struggle and get distracted while the trade setup is developing. Having said that, I am just a small fish in the pond compared to the experiences of you guys.

Hi fxpider, everything is great in hindsight as well and good to learn from.

With MA's they give context and can be used in anticipation of a continued move or not, as targets or entry areas depending on mindset and overall style. Choosing a period is up to you to determine. I learned from this guy (see vid link) for a tiny while in his live scalping room but have also learned other periods and usage. Without them there is one less input of context that could be useful.

Cheers...

Thanks mate, for the video. Since my last post, I have been reading some resources regarding MA and working on how to incorporate them into my process. No doubt, the use of MA gives an extra layer of confluence. Also, I was feeling naked looking into my template.
Always learning

MAs are good if used correctly. At the least they can help give structure to your charts. For me they are areas of potential entry. Most people don't really understand how to use them so they deride them. Same as with the various horizontal lines and vertical time breaks.

It all still comes down to what PRICE does at those areas.

SPZD ... This is Spot On .
And... The best experience is when Price Action that you know what to do about is confirmed by your MA set up.

This is a good video. SBurke goes psycho ... jk he discusses psychology. At 19:15 when he talks about psychological factors, the first few moments is really, you lump tired of your job into this category. That's the reason most get into trading ...

No trading for me today but I hope to invite experienced comment on my charts.

Not sure what I am doing here but here are some charts ( Dax and Cable) where I try to make sense of the open of the UK session.
Grey circles on Cable are proposed 1 minute trades. Road map is still key but may be triggered earlier by UK open line action ?

I would not take today into account too much as it is the day after US Thanksgiving and they let the kids play with the Algo.
