Yeah, I use the MAs to read what the general price movement is. Price is what creates my MAs. They then become proxies for price movement. This concept works well with the Hull MA.

The red MA is the M15Hull. I think this is a preferred look according to AHull himself (he trades stocks longer term). On smaller timeframes this angled movement becomes a stair step type move. I call this the grind. Not sure if others mean this type of movement as "the grind". The grind will punish wrong direction in a slow way.

I took the buy low trade on USD/CHF after the FGD. Got in after that long red pin bar on the 5 minute. Working out so far, targeting 0.9193. If it looks like it's gonna fizzle out I'll cut it loose.
Take the easy ones, and don't do anything stupid in the meantime.

Not working out. LOL

It did have a BIS to the upside, gonna see if it forms a W after coming back down towards the LOD for a possible re-entry. And if not, oh well.

The black ovals are areas where I would consider an entry into a stair step type move. My entries were always off a bit before this. The kijuns help. They give you a mid-point over how many periods you choose. This helps with momentum determination.

The 15 HMA red line, seems to hug price nicely during a trend.

I can live with that squiggle.

That is one of the moves the creator wanted. For me they have their purpose.

I know you are not an index trader nor a squiggly trader, but here is a few days of the RED squiggly on the SP500 M15...

I played with different settings & types of Ma's for many years, Hull included in that collection. Even Guppy Rainbow Ma's.

Only Ma now is MACD for divergence.

I have yet, and it may or may not happen, been able to get away from how I use MAs. They are my crutch, It is what it is.

Thanks for the visit

The only reason why I don't trade indices is that there aren't 2 parties to the party. You are trying to work out strength between SP500 shares vs Dollar.

Saying that though, Market structure works just the same on any pair.

I think specialising on certain pairs only, means that you concentrate better and don't miss moves., as TT does with GJ only.

All the best with your trading.

I have brought up trapped volume. Here is an example. This looked like it was going to BO North for a couple minutes and I am sure a fair number went long in that spot.

If the rest of the morning shapes up like the first 30 minutes this could be a nice smooth cycle day.

Indices are a different creature in their make up. The SP500 is one of the cleanest instruments you will encounter. It is a challenge. I have almost got it tamed.
