Unfortunately I have to go. So I'm leaving these trades at BE. The blue line is BE. Not part of the strategy, especially since another buy is about to materialize. Would have love to see the proper outcome.

A strategy with none stop loss is dangerous because if the up trend continue you can add many sell orders and loose all your money, no? You trade against the trend.

There is no SL but you close all your trades when price touches 200 EMA

As you can see on this chart and if we follow this rules strategy we can open 4 sell orders but the up trend is not finished and the price is above all our sell orders. And now, you add more sell trades or you close all this orders.

Just set up a quick backtest from 2016 to 2021, original rules per post #1, volume fixed to 0.01. The result is as I expected: profits in ranging conditions do not make up for the losses during long treding phases without significant pullbacks. Setting the entry distance from 5 pips to 10 pips does not improve the result significantly.

I think it is more safe to trade only short entries below 200EMA and long entries above 200EMA. There can be discussion of how we exit our positions.

I agree with your buy entries. I usually go against the trend in long time frame like H4. In H4 time frame , impact of news related spike is gone in two candles but in smaller time frames , it won’t be wise going against the trend.

I just see this thread and remembered that I came up with the same strategy a couple of years ago but the entry point was just the distance from the MA, not a signal from an indicator.

I've also coded an EA of that strategy so I already had some of the code done.

Here is an EA with your exact strategy. Please test it and share the results.

Note: Ignore what it says in the About screen, the EA it's unlocked.
Note2: If you want to be able to see the info panel you need to remove the GP_Clock indicator from the template.

Making an optimization I was able to turn it profitable during this year in the tester by using MinDistance = 250, TPDistance = 10

I think the strategy has potential but it needs a better way to handdle the exits when the trend continues.

You can use this indicator to replace the GP_Clock one.

In that case, the yellow line indicates the minimum distance that the price must reach before qualifiying for placing a sell when a red cross appears. The Pink line it would be it's take profit. You can disable those lines in the inputs of the EA if you want by setting ShowOPLines = false.
