If anyone is looking how to filter stocks by volume in USD (instead of volume in shares which is misleading), this link is great
it can help you spot outliers. i've seen Valeant swing up and down 15-30% a handful of times in just 2 1/2 hours today.
I bought it at 102 and sold it at 114.. quick 10% gain
it has double the volume in USD that Apple does, to give you some indication of its volatility today. But its market cap is only 5% as large as Apple.
this means major players are trading in it today.
Valient and Allergan are beating Apple in total USD volume traded
because apparently Valeant is somewhat of a ponzi scheme and big players are dumping it.
I find it funny how Ackman is shorting Herbalife (based on his premise that its a ponzi), which is a legitimate company
Yet he is a majority shareholder in Valeant (a ponzi?). Not the best hedge fund manager if you ask me.
