Why will it be obviously positive for the EUR? He may cut the rates again, which would have a negative effect. He may announce large quantitative easing, which would push it down. Obviously Draghi will want to put in place measures he thinks will improve things for the EU, but that doesn't mean they will, or that the markets think they will.

Think if the plan is for EURUSD to go up, we need to get above 1.3668 tomorrow. Little bit of short timeframe buying at the moment, so we'll see.

The US dollar strengthen against most pairs on the pro-dollar news. Core duable goods comes much stronger than expected and CB Consumer sentiment was higher too.
Draghi did mention that countries should do more to create more growth, and of coz looking if there's any hint to the next policy meeting.
Mentioned at the start of the week that the EURUSD will retest 1.3650 – 1.3670 level and it indeed come to past. However, there’s a slight change in view towards EURUSD, given that the bears is getting weaker in H4 and H1, signalling a potential correction within this week and probably back to previous high level (1.3670).
I will still maintain my short view but amended TP1 to get out earlier.

my assumption is that a rate cut is already priced in EURUSD so as we approach the 5th of June...chances for disappointment over no rate cuts or limited reaction to a possible rate cut increase. This is basic stuff. Next Friday is the 30th of May.

Yes that makes sense. I'd still expect to see more buying taking place tomorrow or tonight to support that view.

For what is worth, today Goldman Sachs revised down its H2 US GDP forecast by 25 basis points on the grounds of durable goods. You need to look at the core data which is less flattering than the overall result. In my view that could also hint at a much higher exchange rate than the current one. Now Carney is due to speak in the next few mins. It would be interesting to see if he mentions the joint program with ECB.

Have a long at 1.3628 from yesterday aiming for 1.37264, S/L 1.36020

OMG my long got stopped at BE and still no signs of an uptrend... plus in the big picture of things, daily 200 EMA and weekly down trendline rejected the last up move.. My guess is that its time (for me) to start building shorts in a higher timeframe trading POV, 1.35 is more likely to happen at this point.
