EU ZEW Sentiment is such a bubble, at 68.3 it is higher than the 2006 high of 66.1, well, with PIIGS still weak and France/Holland is joining the sick men group, 68.3 is plainly hilarious.
We are close to DPV @ my broker so lets go under there and see some more bear power finally

Those are only pretty good expectations, and thus markets have not reacted with too much of action. This reminds me of the Soviet Union era - a huge pile of lies about the real developments (which were obviously shi..y, and a lot of efforts to make people believe that tomorrow is going to be brighter than today. {quote}

I often have that impression too. However, the data isn't made up by politburo, but just reflects some statistically objective figures (in that case just sentiment ... and nothing else)

I did not question the impact much. I was rather talking about the contrast between the reality and the mood. On the other hand, yes, it is (expectations) the only remaining hope for the EU common currency experiment.
