DislikedAlexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor had this to say about the Athenian Republic right around the same time we formed our 13 colonies.
"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government."
"A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves gifts from the public treasury." (I think some guys on Wall Street may have read this book before I got to it)
“From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.” (I'd make a great dictator... who's voting for me?) “

DislikedI hope not, acumen..but hope really does not count for anything. I have discussed this at length on other threads. The final outcome does seem inevitable...we're just not sure about the time frame. The end game will really start when US defaults on its debt. I hope I'm not around to see it, but I keep my eye on the Real Estate market in Costa Rica and Thailand just to be safe!Ignored
DislikedNew Update:
EUR/USD we Short and Hold for 150 pips more
USD/CHF Hold Long, Target 1.1325Ignored
Disliked? hold the e/u short another 150 pips lower than 1.3611. Is that what you are saying?Ignored

DislikedYour shorting it till it tests the next support which is 1.3535. I just went long GBP/USD and will be looking to long EUR/JPY(maybe EURUSD as well) to scalp a 30-40 pip retracement.Ignored

DislikedI thought he meant that he's short now until 1.3611 and then long for 150 pips.Ignored
DislikedI'm confused as well. I thought his initial plan was to do exactly that. But with the update it makes it sound like hold the short for another 150 pips below 1.3611.Ignored
DislikedDepends what you define as "greatest civilization". The role of the leader is not always easy, rewarding or straightforward.
I am Russian and I am old enough to have seen the CCCP and it's collapse. While US situation now is nowhere near to what we had back in 80's, all I can say is: Keep your heads up, this mess seems larger then it really is. What really counts in a country is it's people and I think US has more then enough of bright minds and strong hands to survive any storm thrown at it.Ignored
DislikedI'll get bullish US long term if we can make one change: People (individually), and Govornment must stop spending more than we take in. I do not believe we can make that change...I hope I am wrong.Ignored
