UPDATE: Bit late on the changeover candle photos today but AUDCHF buy is still on a buy signal up 1.4% now so I’m keeping that going. AUDJPY has come up close to the TP for the second time and now moved away a bit. No new trades on other pairs looking close at the moment. See what today brings!

Quite the pullback day to close out the week. I suppose that is to be expected. Both trades still have the signal to remain open and no new trades have formed for Monday basing on the close of this candle today so nothing to put on at the open. Hope everyone had a profitable week!

UPDATE: Just had the TP hit on the AUDJPY buy position for a 0.8% profit and a move of stop to break even on the other position. Last 3 month results I’ve had a 4.6% gain in September a 2% loss in October and now up 1% this month so far.

Hi Akwin, I use a combination of indicators to get me into trades, set the stop loss and take profit and then out of the trades. The idea is that the system gets you out before the stoploss most times so you are losing small and when there is a run like what is happening now I’ve got 2 positions still open that I only close when my exit indicator tells me to allowing the profit to be open ended. Does that make sense?

UPDATE: Overnight both the AUDJPY and AUDCHF buy trades have moved significantly in my favour currently up 2.4% and 2.2% respectively. These are examples of the trades that could potentially well and truly pay for the losses. You also can’t count your pips until you close the trades so I’m not going to speak too soon but looking good at the moment!

ADDITIONAL INFO: Something I haven’t really mentioned but has come up in my trading today. You don’t see it too often which is good but I’ve had my entry triggered on 2 pairs that have had a massive candle today. Now that’s all great for my other trades that I’m already in but this is a no go zone for new trades. My rule is 2*ATR (I believe that is the NNFX rule) on a single candle then you let the trade go by. I’m going to have to let these 2 go and move on.

UPDATE: Not a lot of change since yesterday. Both trades still in the buy zone. Up 2.4% each as of right now. See what happens today but let it keep rolling I say!

I’ve included a potential trade I think I’ve been watching for what seems like forever that finally gave the buy signal today BUT it has the candle that is just too big for an entry. If you look back at the two I posted up yesterday they have either gone down or gone nowhere which is confirmation of what I’ve seen in backtesting. More often than not they just don’t work out. The other thing I forgot to mention yesterday about the 2*ATR candle is that you really need to let the ATR settle back down before you consider another trade. How much is up to you but when you look back at the chart you’ll get a good idea of when it’s back to normal.

UPDATE: No real change from yesterday. In my experience with the indicators I use and the way these candles are now stacking up it’s either going to give me an exit signal on these soon or it’s going to shoot off and go further. It’s probably unlikely they will go back to the break even stop loss now being 200 pips away. You never know of course but things are looking good.

UPDATE: Decent pullbacks on both buy positions yesterday but the buy signal is still is still intact on both so we are going to leave them and see what happens. You never get the top in this system (or most systems for that matter) and always have to give some back. After all how else would you know it’s the top!

Not too much happened yesterday. Slight improvement from the day before on the AUDCHF. Both still have the buy signal so will stay open until the end of Monday. There is a couple of other trades that may or not play out next week. A few things still have to fall into place. Hope everyone had a good week!

UPDATE: Still managing these 2 trades, both moving back close to the highs from a few days ago. Both are still indicating buy so hopefully see a further stretch up on these 2.

The EURNZD has to do a little more before it becomes a trade signal but could turn into something in the next couple of days.
GBPCHF was in a similar position going into the weekend but it hasn’t panned out with the signals not aligning correctly so I’m letting that one go by.

Back down off the top of the day before. It looks likely these trades will be closed in the next few days but who knows. The other two I was watching haven’t panned out so nothing else on the horizon for now.

There were periods where the indicators flicked between buy and sell throughout the day but at the close it has ended up at the close as a buy so I’ll be staying in for another day.

The two trades that I said yesterday hadn’t worked out have turned around and crossed back over. They are now going back towards possibly being an entry in the coming days. From what I’ve seen in these situations if it bounces back into the zone it usually works out more times than not the second time around if it falls into place which is positive.

UPDATE: I’ve closed the AUDCHF and AUDJPY trades at the close of the candle today for a 2.1% and 1% gain respectively. The AUDJPY was up 2% at one point and has come back but at the end of the day you never get it all and if I’d closed at the top and it had a run up again I would have missed it. I’m about to open a EURNZD position just waiting for the spread to settle down on my account.

NEW TRADE: Buy position opened on the EURNZD. It’s formed a bit of a double bottom on the Daily chart and while I don’t use that information to trade it is good to see there are other forces at play around the area I entered!

Not much happening with this trade yet. Has gone away from me since the open of the trade but still has the buy signal so see where it goes. It does seem to be holding the bottom and hasn’t progressed past so could still work out ok.

UPDATE: A move down right near my stoploss then a move halfway back up overnight. This has given me and exit signal so I’ve closed this one for a 1% total loss. It may well give me another open signal the way it’s shaping up but for now it’s closed. I’m watching AUDNZD, GBPCHF, NZDJPY and the EURNZD (for a re entry). For now I’m out of the market.

No trades today so I forgot to post earlier. I’m still watching those same pairs as yesterday. Nothing new has sprung up yet. It’s been a few pages now but if anyone wants help building a system please let me know. I’d love to help.
