you only close a trade if you are winning, even 1%. you can close a losing lot if you have another lot/s winning and you are up %%%

I 'm having a fight with E/J daily break since 1 week ... 1 more loss yesterday and a win Friday morning ... no more SL next week ... I will counter and keep it into limbo ...

Cable ADR Last 20 days is 106.8 and currently Cable range is sitting at 37.2....... I wonder what is going to happen next? Good Luck to those trading the 04-00 Cable!!!

'Morning, folks. No Frankfurt action for me today. It was bumbling along going nowhere particularly fast and I got fed up with it and it was time for the DAX to step up to the plate...which it did. +5% and went on for more.

t 09-17 Cable is not going to plan, I have a counter on it.
The low broke then failed so i have counter on High.
I am actually going out in a few minutes so hopefully nothing happens until i am back. Lets check news

This was an interesting trade...

 

  1. AUDUSD DZ +30.8 pips (Yesterday's trade finished today) (-8.6+14.0+14.6-8.0*4+4.1*4+6.6*4)
    Shorted at DZ low. Price went back up. Countered at DZ mid. Price went back down. Closed the buy and added a sell at DZ low. Price didn't break the DZ again THE WHOLE DAY. At NY close, price spiked all the way down roughly 14 pips below DZ low within seconds. For a second I was happy about all that positive slippage. BUT, the spread widened like crazy during those seconds and triggered my counter buy pending order at DZ high which was four times the lot size. The buy triggered and the order was down like -15 pips. I literally froze and didn't know what to do. I calmed myself down and planned how I would get out of this.

    Price was still in the DZ. So, if price went down to DZ low, I was going to counter with double the lot size and trade as if I am surfing the DZ. But luckily, price crawled up back to DZ mid, so I put the trade in limbo there. Price went up. I closed my sell counter at DZ high and added a buy. I targeted the big round number 0.76000, but price went up to 0.75997 and reversed. I was greedy... Price almost went down to DZ low, but eventually went back up. I aimed for 0.76042 based on S+D, but I chickened out near 0.76000. I wish I didn't, but I'm still happy with the profits.

    Because I add positions when I counter and use pending orders, I learned it can be very dangerous at NY close when crazy things happen to the spread. I guess I was lucky to get out of this. Now that I think about it, I could've traded Wick-Zone style and gotten out of this trade earlier when price reversed.

LOW ??
I made a mess of Cable -High broke then turned South - I panicked and (as per "wick zone" trading) went short as price went into body of 4 am to 8 am bar - grabbed 4 pips and exited ( "bottled it" is another apt phrase). Lesson -I must learn to stick to my plan and be willing to reverse engines when the plan says so. Really annoyed that I can still panic some days. Poor concentration some days maybe.
Will watch it ( Cable) for now.

I also like cooking but , unlike Mrs T, I have to have the cookery book open before me. That's why many of its' pages have "smudge" marks on them.
