And for you historians. The lake you see in the background is Lake Greenwood on the Saluda river. Twice a week I pass the Star Fort at Ninety-Six, South Carolina. It was the farthermost inland English fort during the Revolutionary war. It was the first time Americans used European siege methods. Much of the old earthen fortifications remain visible. Light horse Harry Lee, Robert E. Lees father was also at this battle. The Americans did not win, but the British decided they couldn't defend a fort this far inland and withdrew to Charleston, about 200 miles away as the crow flies. The picture is a replica of the fort as it stood. Earthen fortifications behind.

Yes. This is the first of new technology for the area. Entire footer and foundation wall will be cast. No block. I don't know if you use the latest GPS transits, but they blow your mind. Use bearings from 20 -25 satellites and have a vertical accuracy of 1/10 inch and a horizontal accuracy of 0+-.

This is actually a inlet on the lake. Dam is about 2 miles from here. Very clean lake built by Greenwood to supply electricity bout 1933.

HaHa Told the frog story and variations to all 3 grandsons few times over. Such a good lesson there. So hard for the for the left to understand.

Yep I used the very early Leica Total Stations a few moons ago but now I presume they have probably advanced more than a few notches. Towards the end still found a clear hose full of water spot on to transfer levels.

No had that last little flurry we last spoke about 3 years ago. I only went back for a short time to have a break from scalping, my eyeballs were scorched but difficult to turn back the clock. I used to love it but found it harder to get reliable lads who want to graft, so after that last sale called it a day. This is hard to beat plus don't need to rely on anyone except for a bit of company here

I may have been mate, it's been a while. I had digs in a village called Calder Bridge when I worked at Sellafield which was really handy for West Lakes. You won't be disappointed mate. Beautiful up there.

Ok mate catch ya. I don't sit the whole day any more. Try and bang a few early ones in then get out and about when the weather is good. Been getting out on my kayak off Llandudno, near the Orme, bit of fishing, good paddle and great to see stuff around the cliffs you can't see from the land side.
