I have been into Trading since many years. Into Forex trading since little over a year. I am still not seeing any consistent profits after trying almost everything. I have checked out system after system and then another system. But nothing seems to work for me. I have developed and coded some of my own systems, and still not consistent profit.

I was wondering how is everyone else doing? Is anyone making consistent profit here? If so, what kind of ROI yo uare making? What is reasonable expectation from Forex trading? I have seen people talk anywhere between 1% to 1000% return on capital per month.

I would really appreciate if anyone making consistent even 1% per month would be willing to share details on what you are doing? Obviously you are doing something right if you are making consistent over 1% per month of your capital (I mean at least 12 months)

. But really appreciate your consistent attempt to ensure profit. Just tell me do you have proper money managing plan that you use when trading ?

The secret is that trading is not meant for everyone. You need strong emotional balance, Forget about getting rich Quick. You will with time. The key to the puzzle is a lot simpler than you have made it with your systems. Its right there in front of you. Its a mystery to me how the most powerful truths are so obvious yet we fail to grasp them. Good luck with your pursuit.

Also i like to add one more line here and i.e, take small steps earn pips and you will at the end of day have sufficient amount of profit in your account.

Very wise words After reading a ton of material and listening to interviews of some of the best traders out there one thing that is becoming really clear is that being profitable is alot 'simpler' than it seems. It's really strange that more people aren't able to do it, even once they know how. Two major reasons traders fail is (1) lack of money management and (2) self-sabotage.

You have mentioned just 2 reasons about losing but I don’t think so. Why traders fail it depends on their trading approach as well trading maturity. Last week I did a huge loss to take revenge from this market . it was my emotions I have understand right now. But a senior trade can fall a great loss also but he will never fall a emotions that I had.

There are many more reasons than the ones I mentioned, but the 2 I've found came up the most for me. The emotional side and revenge trading seems to be linked to self-sabotage.

The principles are easy but their application is the problem. The real problem of the speculator is not the market but himself. Believe me there are a million ways to profit from the markets.Methodology is not the key.

Everyone knows that the market has never crashed to zero and that it will rebound to new highs no matter how low they fall but we keep selling at the bottom, conversely we know there must be an end to every bull market yet when the market keep rising we ignore the laws of gravity and dive in.

This is not different from all the traders in FF who have back tested strategies that worked in the past(Bull market) and dive in after it has done so well and eventually abandon the strategy at Equity lows, right when the strategy will resume working again. We tend to love buying High and selling Low.

The advice I have is there is no goose who lays the golden egg forever. You will sometimes go for months as a day trader with no return on your Equity if not in a draw down, most of you will give up.Yes easy money cannot be found on planet earth. In trading like in life the last man standing is always the winner. Trading runs hot and cold, I have no idea why.

Yes I agree with you. Who has emotions on trading only he always tries to take revenge. Two different words but meaning same

I would say 1% grow is too low. you should target more. if you have a right system, you can't control how much you gain.

I seem, you may not worked with both kind of market analysis! Listen, you need combo trading skill on technical and fundamental trading! Only technical or news trading isn’t enough! Besides, Forex is not only indicator based trading! Don’t be frustrated, try again please!

I am pretty new to the forums here, but I have researched and traded markets for a few years now. I was not profitable in trading until 5 years in and that was swing trading stocks. Now that I have started to trade FX full time, it is a whole different ball game. You have to consider how much time you put in and/or have to dedicate to becoming profitable. If you have a full time job, a wife/husband, children, etc., expect it to take many years. If you are a single person with nothing but time you can achieve it much faster. Life definitely will get in the way. IMO it requires patience, determination, and the ability to take losses. Don't make the mistakes I have made in the past and still sometimes make, which is abandoning strategy after strategy because it doesn't seem to work. You have to give a strategy a fair amount of time before making that conclusion. How much time is a matter of your trade frequency. If you are a day trader, I would say month at least. If you are a swing trader I would say 3 months, and if you are a position trader, at least 6 months to a year, etc. If you are not profitable over a reasonable amount of time then, consider tweaking the strategy and then if it still doesn't work you may want to abandon. You should journal your strategy along the way, because that will help you pinpoint where you could use improvement. Hope that helps.
