Good Morning Gator... I've been pestering everyone today about the GBP/USD, sorry but it's your turn..lol... My charts(4hr and Daily) seem to indicate a steady flow to the north, but with the election looming around for Thursday GBP is doing nothing as plan, not that any pair does..just was wondering what you think about the craziness that's coming and would you suggest a long from here 1.2885 or am I just looking at the wrong timing.. any thought would be appreciated.

st still hasn't reached the longer term 1316. if one got in on the scalp. atm in this 1270x area has that st dt. waiting for 1316 may be aggressive since it didnt do it yet. a possible retrace to 1197 is probably a less dangerous long for 1316 and maybe more. the problem for me is 1316 is a larger attraction than a st one like 1197. if or how it gets to 1316 may not be pretty here.. so if 1 scalped the 125x long.. dont let it turn red. 1270 may be a s/r later today. to reach 1316 it may require closes above 1270 and 1277, on a st basis is a start.

hi mick, i dont know.
but my opinion is:
its a little mixed to me on different time frames. monthly/weekly very bullish, daily bullish but maybe needs a retracement to 122.31.
4h is mixed
1h is bearish.

on the 1h chart, i will take my chances with a short with stop loss if we close the 1h above the blue line and target at 122.62.

i might be very wrong and you might be very right but i will take it

quick question: why is there always a number of retracements before moving up/down? Can't the price just steady climb without an "out of knowhere" retracement. I usually get stopped out right before the uptrend...

i dont know exactly why, maybe because so many people are participating in the market and not all of them jump in at the same prices in the same direction. each group has a price and a direction.
i think you get stopped out most often because 99.9% of the people lose money in forex. its hard to win, you only have few levels with the right stop to win, it will be with the direction of the market movers...

that would have played ok if i kept it open, but i dont think it will go to 122.62
maybe it will go to the yellow line on the 15M chart instead or even reverse here

Risk off mode from Middle east ( Quatar ) So I would be careful to go against Yen and Gold . Better to get in on dips ( Eurjpy / gold / gbp/jpy ) In worst case this will be war during the coming weeks.
