Morning everyone. So much reading material to catch up on - thought everyone was on holiday!? I know I was, lol.

The Frankfurt Break eased me back into the game, clean as a whistle...+5

Over at The Dax-Monster 07:55, it ended up doing what I thought it was going to do and went long - but the whip short first was a pain in the ass. The joys of countering, eh...

Well, I have reading to do to catch up on events over the weekend - though not now...I'm crashing till The Dead Zone! Took the chance of a trip to Knoydart over the long weekend and didn't get back till really late, so not slept yet as went straight into Frankenbreak action. I now cannot keep my eyes open, lol.

Apologies to those who are waiting on answers to various questions I promised over the weekend. I haven't forgotten, honest.

In my defence, would you have turned down the chance to see this?

Lend me ur opinion on this too lem. After billy told me to look into trading small and compounding given my bankroll I ran a a manual test over the last 50 trading days and came up with this. (Done this test on 7:45 cable)
0.5% per pip

Hi/low plus/minus a full one pip for entry, helps avoid those God awful trip-ins by 0.2 pips only to be dragged to the other end of the candle. (Over this test this rule hasn't seemed to have damaged any results much)

First position gets exited at +5 then double size is entered with a target of 2 points and 5 point stop which puts the percent return at 4.5% if the whole 7 points is reached and a loss of 2.5% if the 5 is reached but the compound fails. And obviously whatever candle size there is will be the loss if it's an outright failure before 5 is made.

Over 50 trades there was 15 losses (5 of which were failures of the compound attempts)
Total loss was 67.7%
Total won 157.5%
Net return 89%

Nothing like Billys 25% a week lol but what you think?

Big edit: ran through the percentage returns on the account day by day and it turns out it's more like 75% return to date. Seems like jus subtracting the total lost and the total won doesn't approximate it well anyone know why this is? Is it some mathematical quirk lol

Even so I wouldn't turn down a 75% return in less than two months at all lol

If "yesterday's" Daily Bar that we mark our HH/LL for the breakouts happens to be a INSIDE BAR.......do we still trade that bar as normal? or is our previous bar being an "inside bar" make our breakout trade for that day "not valid"? I wasn't sure if Inside Bars being our Previous Candle is Good or Bad? Txs for your help in advance!!!

@sb - here's an advisor Ferru coded for me some time back based on e/j day break. Got source code somewhere.

I too am sharing your flirtation with DAX ideas. It is a powerful drug, for sure. I have been looking at the 07:55 and we'll see how that goes. The jury is still very much out.

Anyway, your thing. My brain is still kinda' foggy from lack of sleep (even Warren Zevon in the background isn't shaking it, it's that bad, lol) but I see nothing particularly wrong. My only concern - and it's a major concern - is the speed the DAX-Monster moves at. I don't know if you have watched your potential set up live yet but what I have found on my thing is that it looks like you'd hit a home-run every ball, only to find when you run it live you realise how damn fast that ball is coming at you. I am batting just over .65 after a couple of weeks live. Still ahead but not by anywhere near as much as I should be if I could have got my entries when I wanted them. However looking back at them, every one did what I had anticipated it was going to do.

If you are anticipating having to be getting in-and-out of trades really quickly, I would say that you need to get demoing it live as soon as you can. Not so much on the dollar figures that come but purely to see if you can run the mechanics of the thing. I swear there was a trade last week where my eye didn't even register that price had reversed and reversed again before it had already done a double-turn-back-flip-with-triple-salchow in my face.

As an aside, how does this variant stand up against just taking the first +5 hit?

Over at The Dead Zone, I managed to stumble onto a good set-up with GU.

Price was sitting at resistance and it was also a potential 1-2-3 set-up. Good enough. Short from the top zone.

Dont forget, i have losses but as long as i have 5% on a trading day it doesnt count. Casualties happen.

you can use stops but it adds more problems to a trade, Still good though

Hi and welcome, a Daily Inside Bar is always good. you can trade with just these.
A break of an inside daily bar can get you more points, example ib breaks low then continues down to previous days daily low then the +%%%, Thay can fail too, just a warning

Thanks Lem! U must be tired mate cause you must of saw DAX in my post as opposed to cable LOOL! I wouldn't touch that dax for nobody thats billy's mistress lol. I ran this test on cable. And yeah your concern is definitely shared! Cable can be a quick mover too. I'm thinking either attempt to code up something that can help with the compounding or manually setup the compounding orders with tp and sl already set but very far away from price and whichever direction I get tripped in on the bar I'll drag the corresponding compound order to where it needs to be and remove the other lol.

To your question about the +5 only, it would only have saved me five losses out of the 15 bringing the win rate up to 80% from 70% and although I haven't ran the numbers I'm not sure that would help me much because my wins would only be 2.5% without the extra lil 2 points compounded. Whereas the losses that still remained would be the same in terms of how much percent they take me down making them harder to come back from. Although nothing can be said without running the numbers so I'll take that as a challenge and get back to you lol

with compounding, it doesnt have to be a full 100% compound , maybe just add on 10% or what ever. small gains mount up.
Even try taking he 5% before the stat 10 (if used) and trade the retrace, you will end up with more
