Demo'd the 7:45 cable today. My counter got spiked in by spread somehow lool then I took the high break after made 5 points then entered double size with 5 stop and compounded an extra 5 points from 2.5 pips

Can anyone explain this observation I've made. When I have two separate positions in the same direction my margin that ive put up increases but when I have a counter in my margin that ive used goes to zero?

Check the picture. I have my counter in and it makes no mention of margin used my equity and free margin match. But if I jus had one position on, it would show Margin - 50.00 for example. And if i was to add another trade in the situation on the pic it would only say I have 50 margin out up

i am in early tonight, My lady is marking exam papers and i am looking at something.
I didn't trade today and it looks like i would of struggled with both Cable and Dax, but it would of been good for the stats.

Couldn't help but read over this holiday.
-Daily Break Strategy
-H4 Break Strategy
-H1 Deadzone Break Strategy
-H1 Witching Zone Strategy
Then there are variations of these where you enter from the WZ(wickzones/alienzones) crossing into the body....

A.)These are the strategies I've read up till now so far....
Which is most prevalent at this point in time? I've been reading posts that bounce back and forth from one another.

B.)And no clear answer on SL, so far I've read Counters are sometimes good.
But how to Open one and close both positions in profit?

Hello Faatkumo and welcome,, i personally do not use a stop loss as such as i prefer to counter.
A bad trade is held in limbo until the next trade. I can only speak of Daily break and 04-00 break.
You need a decent method and need to look at it with stats.
I normally look for 5% per trade but many times i get more than this.
This extra helps to offset loss plus we compound too.
We need 5% per trade day after any loss.

Can you possibly give an example of a trade that went sour and you had to open a counter ? And when you would close it?

I cannot give out a precise explanation as it would involve a third party who have an interest.
BUT first, have a method with a high strike rate.
If it fails counter. This counter will carry until next trade.
Repeat. I personally look for 5% but my stats are based on 9%, the extra %%% are used to carry any losses.
You do not have to counter, you need to feel at ease trading this way and have the bank roll to use it.

Hi, This has just happened, i want 5% but actually got 8%, i have an extra 3% to offset a loss. Range was 21 normally it is a lot less than this.

It was a short which gained 19 %. it was short before the retrace .
I DIDN'T TRADE IT AS I WAS ACTUALLY TYPING MY FIRST REPLY TO YOU AT 08-00 LOL. Cable was already on.

Cable, it just made +10 which means it did not fail.

i got 5% (8%) and then dropped. It might keep dropping or it might go back up.
It doesnt matter to me anymore as i am done for the day

i was thinking what SB said several days ago, regarding a gamble/lottery type bet where you just have fun sticking some money onto a trade.
Using dax as the fun .

Hi FK....I recommend you pick one method and ride with it for a couple of weeks live....u will learn heaps , good luck
