China: Downgrade puts focus back on financial risks - Danske Bank

Earlier today Moody’s downgraded China’s rating by one notch. According to analysts from Danske Bank, S&P could follow soon and they expect market focus to return to China’s financial risks this year.
Key Quotes:
“Overnight Moody’s downgraded China by one notch from Aa3 to A1 – the first downgrade since 1989. It changed the outlook from negative to stable. The rationale behind the downgrade is rising debt and Moody’s expectation of a continuing increase in leverage in coming years, which will erode China’s financial strength.”
“Moody’s also highlights that the growth target the government is pursuing in the Five-Year Plan will rely on continued stimulus and rising leverage. ‘Taken together, we expect direct government, indirect and economy-wide debt to continue to rise, signalling an erosion of China’s credit profile, which is best reflected now in an A1 rating.’”
“The move by Moody’s does not seem to relate to the recent bouts of financial stress but is based more on a long-term sustainability analysis. S&P could soon follow, as it now has a one-notch higher rating than both Moody’s and Fitch.
“We expect focus to return to China’s financial risks this year, as growth slows down. We continue to see downside risks to Chinese growth based on the policy tightening already done and the current stress in bond markets. We do not expect a big financial crisis in the short term (next one to two years), as we believe China is likelyto take a step back on regulatory tightening if stress gets too high and threatens the economy ahead of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party in the autumn.”

Iron Ore - Modest seaborne export growth continues - Westpac

Analysts at Westpac explained that Australian iron ore exports for May so far are telling a story of continued modest growth.
Key Quotes:
"After an estimated 68.73mt of iron ore exports in April (up 1.68%3myy), May port activity suggests 70.99mt (up 3.78%3myy).
Adding a bit of weight to the rising global supply theme, exports from Brazil for the month of May so far also suggest modest growth.
After an estimated 29.6mt of iron ore exports in April, port activity suggests 31.8mt for the month of May.
That would imply a modest 1.29%3myy rate of growth for iron ore exports from Brazil, although this remains well below market expectations given additional supply from S11D."

Lordgbengs , thank you for posting the release. However , I have no idea where the Canadian Government can say that our economy has adjusted to the lower price of oil. Canadians cannot find decent paying jobs , bankruptcies are way up , there is NO WAGE GROWTH anywhere in this country , and we are taxed to death !!!

My point is this : With Davit's Trading System , if you follow it to a tee , ANY NEWS , positive or negative , will NOT seem to matter with regard to the BIG PICTURE of our trading positions.
Now , I ONLY concern myself with one News item , The US NFP , but , I take 99.99% of all News Events with a "grain of salt". Our latest Canadian Releases is nothing but complete BS !!!!
Poloz couldn't raise our rates here in Canada by even 10 Basis Points , this Country IS THAT CLOSE TO DEFAULT , and our genius "leaders " know it !

Have UJ on varios buy positions waiting for it to break through WP to R38.
EU, EA, and EG on minor DD some positions in profit but holding patiently.

Closed EA +421pips
Its in a range.This is my 3rd batch this week on this.

Personally I'll stay away from UJ buys at this level.
UJ could not break WP so wait lower to buy if you want to. USD weakness is still continuing

Yes I think it would be wise to close them. Have all positions in profit no need to go overboard with this pair as it moves in wild bunches anyway. Any profit from it is gold. Thanks Davit.
