I'm curious, why the 89 period and why the SMA as opposed to a different number or type of MA? I know 89 is in the Fibonacci sequence does that have something to do with it? If so what?
Thanks

Thanks for posting.

I would like some clarification please.

Part 1
Buy set up:
"Find 2 candles tha closed below its open followed by 2 bars that closed above its open"
Would you explain what "It's" is in reference too?
• Would this be "2 bars closing Below 89sma"?
or
• Would this be "2 bars closing Below Each Bars Open"?

Same questions for the 2nd part. I'm going to assume you are referring to "2 bars that Closed above it's (each bars) open." Honestly I can't determine which it is. If you would highlight each bar you are referring to, that would clear the matter up, at least for my little pea brain.

++++++++++++++++++++
Part 3 Stop loss.
To exit place your stop ,loss 2 spread valued below the last swing low.
Not sure what this means either. What is "2 spread value" based on? To me spread refers to cost per trade. EU 2pips, etc. I doubt you're talking about trading daily charts with a 4pip stop loss.

If these questions seem silly to you, simply ignore, and I will understand.
Thanks,
Darryl

It is ok to use your own ideas or point of view to enter at a better point or with new ideas.
EURJPY is overbought .
I see the last rally maturing, which
suggests that further upside should be limited.
Look for a new sell set up.

How long does it take to become a top trader?
Ignored

It varies a lot.

The consensus of opinion among most people posting in a trading forum is going to be very different from that among most successful traders, who will give much longer average answers.

I'd say the necessary process of acquiring skills to trade profitably is about equivalent to taking a college degree, so maybe 3 years full-time, or 5-6 years part-time, would be about the fastest. The success rate among people trying to do it more quickly than that will be pretty much non-existent.

In my opinion, these are probably the main 7 things it depends on:-

1. How good people are at learning new things

2. Whether they have any instinctive understanding of probability and statistics to start with

3. How educable they are in the broadest sense

4. How much time, effort and energy they can apply to the learning processes involved

5. Where they source their material from

6. How much patience and discipline they have

7. Whether their expectations were reasonable to start with

Your list of 7 key factors above is outstanding, and I agree with your perceptive estimates of the time-period, too.

But - for clarity - how are you distinguishing between factors 1 and 3 on your list above?

alicia you said "When to enter:
Buy stop above the first bar that closes above the 89 SMA."

Why did you sell before the 89SMA?

Hi alicia.
From that moment you can live and survive from demo pippin, from that moment you are a top trader.

Considering you've "mastered"a "method"/"system" is not always a good thought, at some point the Market may give you a lesson.

On the other hand, becoming a "Top Trader" is not an easy process, I think there's an average from 3-5 years to gain enough knowledge about FX trading.

And even with that, you will still be making mistakes and learning every day.

Good Luck.

Thanks, Q.

Sorry, I was in a hurry and thinking aloud, when I typed my little list. Probably those 7 factors overlap, a bit. I was thinking of how well equipped people are to self-educate, by being able to judge who's worth listening to and what's genuinely information rather than widespread misinformation (on the one hand), and how well motivated and able people are actually to "learn new material" (on the other).
