If you have read through the thread and kept up with the ideas discussed, you would know that AB=CD isn't a necessary requirement for entry. It has been mentioned several times.

For the trade you are asking about, I did an entire post specifically dedicated to answering the question: Why did I enter this trade before AB=CD?

Parviz' indi is picking up bullish WWs in the D leg on the hourly, 4H, and weekly! None of which have very nice structure.

Interesting scenario with crude oil

Completion of a Quasimodo pattern at point C of a beautifully clean structured WW on the Daily. Can oil fall $10 to complete this WW? I wouldn't think so. Have a look.

The indicator couldn't pick this one up because leg CD was too choppy. I found this one manually. A textbook case of confluence.

1) AB=CD = .7333 almost to the pip on a daily chart!
2) XA 161FIB extension = .7333
3) BC 200FIB extesion = .7333
4) Gann fan 4x1 line intersects time and space at .7333
5) Bullish Quasimodo pattern completion at .7310

For a daily time frame, could it be a bunch of coincidences? Or could it be the market is truly harmonic in nature?

Three levels of FIB confluence, Gann fan, previous S/R. Seems like a good spot for a bounce. Raises the question that's been posed before: Is point "X" legitimate?

Stopped out for -20 pips.

Lesson reaffirmed: Don't force point "X", make sure it's a more distinct high or low.

Hi Kurt

Thanks for setting up the thread and keeping it lively. Good job. Hoping to contribute more often in the future, but still in learning mode. One question regarding the (failed) EURJPY setup. Price touched the AC-Line a third time before it finally hit the trend line and sweet zone. Wasn't the setup already doubtful (invalid?) because of this? Thanks.

EDIT: Attached the chart in another timeframe. But question remains the same.

If you change the scale down, it is a valid X point.
From the examples I've seen, Bill Wolfe would have no problems to consider that a valid one.

It did bounce price, only it was short lived and hard to profit from. Can't win them all

From a little checking the charts for history of non obvious X points WW, I get the impression they are still a good bet, maybe they require more consideration and aggressive management.

Yea I noticed he has no problem basically putting X anywhere.

For me, I prefer my starting point to be at a point where price is already moving in that direction, separate and distinct. I like the subjectivity in trading WWs, just as long as the plan is consistent

Agree, having the X point in same direction takes also advantage of crowd psychology:

Don't like the strength of the waves (projection) but gives a practical idea of what I mean.
Ideally, for the 3rd wave to have a good chance I like to see weak new structure lows (projection) with good depth.

Hey Expo,
I'm no expert in Quasimodo patterns and I hadn't even heard of them until your post on Sunday evening. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I'm not sure that I can see that it has been correctly implemented in your diagram. As I understand it, there has to be a new extreme in price as the first point in the pattern and I don't think the small bull-leg really qualifies as a bull trend or a new extreme in price (?)

http://www.profitf.com/articles/fore...ver-and-under/

Apologies if I'm talking rubbish!

Cheers
Stuart

Thank you Stuart. You are correct!

I learrned something new today. I always wondered if I was missing something. Interesting that no one on the "up and under" thread ever corrected me.

The good news is, I think I just discovered a new pattern. We''ll call it the "rationalized, modified, no extreme high Expo33 Quasimodo" pattern.

Hi siawling.

Looks like you got an initial surge in price. I hope you moved your stops to break even before oil price surge blew up all CAD pairs.
