A new version of dynamic zones polychormatic momentum indicator (with some issues solved)

Also, it is using the fast multi time frame mode now - should be easier on CPU when in multi time frame mode. Some other code changes made too (in order to make it easier to use)

Also, since seems that some explanation is necessary regarding the polychromatic momentum
According to Dennis Meyers (that first described it) it is :

Quote
Momentum is defined as the difference, or percent change, between the current bar and a bar some lookback period in the past.. The major problem with using momentum based indicators is that the optimum lookback period seems to change over time creating losses with the current chosen lookback period. To avoid the errors due to a single lookback period we create an indicator that takes an weighted average of all significant lookback periods for the tradable. We named this indicator polychromatic because poly means many and chromatic means colors. Thus, polychromatic momentum for this indicator translates into the sum of many momentums.

The momentum magnitudes from different lookback periods are not equalized. That is, the momentum from 17 bars ago will have a range of magnitudes that are much greater than the range of momentum magnitudes of the one bar momentum. For Brownian motion random processes the expected distance a particle can move is proportional to the square root of time. Thus to equalize the effect of differences in magnitude so that the longer bar momentum magnitudes don't swamp the magnitudes of the shorter bar momentums in an average , we will weight the momentum values. The weighting function that we chose here is n α , where α is a system input variable. This weighting will equalize the various momentum magnitudes

That is all - nothing to do with fancy colors of the indicator

Jovager this is the same even though the name and coding are different, except added arrows and alerts.

Metta87, put both on the same price(in this picture both using Typical price) you get identical values.

mladen,

can you check the attached version of your TMA centered indicator for MT5 and provide a non-recalculating version ?
If this is not possible, than propose another/similar solution.

I think Mladen will tell you that TMA must, by necessity, recalculate its last bars. The end-point version (non-recalculation) version of centered TMA is the LWMA. Also see:

Non-repainting centered TMA is LWMA. Some more explanation about it can be found here : triangular moving average

But I must say that centered TMA can (and is) causing "dual personality disorder" sometimes
It recalculates. But regardless of that, it would not be prudent to dismiss all the Brian Millard and J.M.Hurst have done to make it usable in trading. Hence I would recommend to anybody that wants to use it in trading to search for the works on cycles they have published - it can be eye opening

I have studied the Hurst/Millard stuff but i still prefer to use the Delta techniques based on Sloman/Wilder to get the Big Picture.
Cycles are not "fixed" as described by Hurst.
See EURUSD chart (90 min data) with a prediction of the turning points for 3 time frames (black, red and blue counts).

My request for the TMA update was to get further information to support this.

The idea is good
I am not sure if some solution that would be able to provide some results similar to that can be fabricated, but will give it a though by all means.

Hi mladen. How's your trading going?

I know people are always asking you to create this and change that.
I don't think that will ever end being how as talented as you are with the code.

But you never really talk about how you like to trade. So, how do you like taking your trades mladen?
You been in this game for a long , long time.
It would be good to talk to you about actually trading forex.
This is forexfactory after all.
So how about it Mladen. Do you like trading the trend or breakouts? Do you like the bigger time frames or do you like to scalp your pips?
Do you believe in using support and resistance or currency strength?
Do you even like to trade manually or do you secretly have a robot or EA mining pips for you while your sipping Rum on the beach somewheres?

So how about Mladen. I could sit hear and come up with all kinds of request and this and that.
But I would rather like to find out and learn what is it that some one like your self who has basically seen it all prefer in his trading.

I think that would be interesting.

In short : manual, day-trader (never trading anything except EURUSD and almost never have more than 1 opened order)
My primary goal is to make more than the banks are giving us - not to make 100% a day, and, for the last 11 years, I must say, I am doing OK

That's great Mladen. It's also great advice. That short paragraph alone will help any new or not so new trader much more than them going from indicator to indicator.
