Update: Oil's just jumped against the greenback. Watch for CAD to follow if it's got anything to do with Oil.

Today's trading results:

  1. AUDUSD DZ +6.2 pips
    I had a small buffer. Buy triggered. Price went against me. I countered when price exited the upper WZ. I added a sell at the low of the DZ candle and closed my negative position. Went for 5 pips from the DZ low and closed both sell positions.

I think I did okay managing my counter today. I wish I traded the FB, but I fell asleep early.

AUDUSD M5 chart with H1 M-candles. M-candle with the arrow is the DZ candle.

One thing I would say to consider.

You note that you used a buffer. Run this thought-experiment:
Tiny range.
No buffer. You have in your mind already decided which way you are going to trigger your trade (based on as much info and analysis as you can work with). Enter trade.
Target +5 and have your decision to counter at -5 already set in stone.

Now, does the buffer help, or hinder here?

How the full day looked on that Brent-US Crude Diff trade. Just too bad price didn't come all the way back up into the upper zone to give a second bite at the southern flight path. Can't complain - it gave me plenty already earlier .

This does bring up a point I've made in the past and is worth repeating for the newcomers, in that if you do by any chance miss the original entry on your chosen pair - for whatever reason - always remember that there is the possibility of surfing the zone through the day.

stat time, i am glad cable did what it did as i had a few people on it. I am not used to seeing it rise lol. i cannot add more. I will trade the 07-45 again in the morning.

Funny you should mention that Lem, i use a buffer on the first trade but not on the retrace should it happen.
BUT my stats are coming together and they suggest i do not need to have a buffer, Those + 5 can be taken as profit.
Straight after Uk open it normally goes high/low or low/high maybe a retrace but rarely whips. Whipping kills.
The method is looking good.

Frankenbreak is first past the post this morning. Over and done with no fuss. Looked like a probable long bias - albeit hardly a strong one - and sure enough, long it went. Took the +5 and happy to do so...

morning all, t 08-28...
i traded Cable off the 07-45 bar .. i didnt use a buffer and somehow i made an error with my entry, lol..
anyway i still got 5% off the High Break..
It had a 7 range and has broken 04-00 bar and yesterdays Daily High. so it should go more and we have a 00 in sight. I have done though.
