be interesting to see what happens with this retrace on AU, my stats that ive managed to transfer to excel show over the last 45 trades, the trades that retraced and made it back to entry the average was 8 points, most frequent retrace was 10 and the deepest was 16-18. Similar candle range (20ish) to most of the ones that had successful retraces

My other usual morning fun, the Brent-US Crude Diff trade (Billy-Bar on the 05.00 H4) gave me a nice surprise when I woke this morning. It's still in a continuation long from yesterday, so I wouldn't be entering anything short today. If price drops into the lower WZ, I will look to add in on a flight out northwards. It's all fun in the sun...

Re that Brent-Us Crude gig...I could have taken the WZ trade South out of the upper zone and used it to hedge against the retrace but hey, I didn't. That would have been too clever, lol...

daily range is only 27 on au so far, other end of the h4 breaking is looking likely and with the d1 trend probably could make good portion of the adr

whats suprising in the stats ive managed to work up some metrics on. the other end break after the first has an even better strike rate for +5 at 84%. Given its only the last 45 trades but is also the most recent action for the h4 AU

edit: retrace bottomed out at -14 from h4 high, nearly made it back to entry point. saw how the stats could of helped in trading that. once it got to -10 and below you knew it was make or break for this retrace so once some buying showed up would of been nice!

I liked the look of the price-action I saw on AU best of my usual Dead Zone options. That, combined with the fact I'd already been in on a 1-2-3 set-up earlier this morning convinced me that that was my yard for today. Worked out fine.




The other two of the original three amigos actually did ok as well, with EJ bagging the pips on the original inside move, while Mr-T's UC should have done the same and even if the first move wasn't quite enough, the second bite was.

Brent-US Crude Diff (05.00 H4)

Hi Lem,
I understand you were already in an AU short from a 1-2-3 set-up, but even with that tiny wick zone, this would've counted as a AU short based on DZ?

This was my trade today which I am embarrassed about. But I would appreciate any feedback from all you guys. This is a M5 chart and the M-candles in the background are H1 candles. The M-candle with the little arrow on the bottom is the DZ candle. Here is how the trade went.

At first, I don't like it when the DZ candle closes very close to the high/low, so I waited a bit before entering.
I set a pending buy and it triggered due to spread. I use a position sizing EA which is based on a stop-loss. I was supposed to cancel the stop-loss, but red news suddenly dropped the price down and I got a -10 pip loss within seconds. I guess I should've avoided trading red news in the first place.
Anyway, I kept looking at the price. Price broke the DZ low, but it wasn't able to go down even 5 pips.
When price came back into the bottom WZ and came out of it, I bought 3 times the lot size I traded for my first trade and grabbed 5 pips.
So I'm up today +5 pips with my first lot size.

I'm still a bit unsure of where I should be countering. If my first trade wasn't closed, I was willing to counter at the DZ low which would've put me in a -15 pip limbo. Also, should I not have increased my lot size? Do you guys often change your lot size to get out of a loss or limbo?

Any feedback on my thought process or actions would be very much appreciated!
