Anniversary celebrations are always a good excuse for self-congratulation, and the rhetoric filling the air in the run-up to the Rome summit suggests that this one will be no different. But EU leaders should also be using the anniversary as an opportunity to reflect deeply on the project they are celebrating. The EU is at a crossroads. and yet only last month he was showing great concern that UK leaving will fracture the EU because of varying interests and priorities of member countries with regards to continuing UK trade relations.

Drunkard Juncker can't persuade other European nations to remain in the EU with a positive message, so he has to threaten them to do so when he said " no-one else will want to leave the EU after they see how harshly Britain is punished" That is the mark of a leader who believes in democracy......NOT. He has no real answer to those who find fault with the EU, other than threats of punishment. Fascist or what?

A little schooling for you here, quoting what someone has just said is not plagiarism, it is being accurate and for the avoidance of misunderstanding. The definition of plagiarism is "the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own."

Not quite how it is though! I believed it was a democratic unity not a dictatorship. If one party doesn't believe they are getting a fair and worthwhile deal, of course they will look to change the parameters.

The mistake is not in the details, the mistake is in not understanding what people really want and care about. No one cares about democracy by itself. Everyone wants a strong economy, good living conditions, the rule of law applied to all citizens, and a strong military. These are often connected to democracy, but the connection is not a predictable fact.

But there is a growing movement of people dissatisfied with the EU and for very good reasons. The move towards Wilders or La Pen represents those who have the courage to take a stand but not those who are afraid of change, but their time will come as well. The cause of this dissatisfaction is not the electorate, but the EU itself. For the EU to survive it has to make fundamental change, change steeped in reality rather than glorious EU rhetoric, as it usually does. The growing dissatisfaction will not disappear with a couple of elections and a meeting in Rome. The EU bureaucrats and EU elite will be the architects of the EU collapse, not the disenfranchised electorate.

The referendum voted to leave the EU. So we are leaving.
THATS NOT THE ISSUE( Doh.)
Norway is Not a member.
Switzerland is Not a member.
They both enjoy economically advantageous access to the single market despite that.
But our Good old Right Wing ideologue, government is leading our UK to a 3rd World WTO trade status with its LARGEST trading partner? that accounts for nearly 50% of all UK trade.
