Volume has increased on the bull side of things so I'm on the sidelines at the moment. I'm not actively looking for any shorts. I need more information.

Unfortunately this was not clear to me and that bulls took a big dump after making some progress. I didn't have a clear read on taking a short. Even though shorting was my interest as I stated. But I did not like the way the buyers defended their zone abd I did not have a rotation. Oh well, the bulls may surprises us though they are not finished.

I think it's one of the problem with this strategy. We never know which swing (long/short) he is trading so it is difficult if not impossible to decipher his decisions from the thin slice of PA he is showing.

Maybe think less of one swing that is traded and more of the whole picture (all swings combined).

A lot of information is blended out in the beginning just because one can not handle it. We need simple patterns and processes to be able to handle the price action. If I consider the PA of the last days and also bearing in mind the accumulation which favours the bears and the medium term expectation of a NSL (longer term was still NSH), when I could now say that the new NSL which just happened (which broke also the long term expectation) would be obvious.
However, from a intraday standpoint, it is less obvious for me. The longer term NSL was not impressive compared to the previous one; we broke structure to the upside from an intraday standpoint and therefore in the immediate orderflow the expectation would have been a NSH. As we can now see, price started to accelerate to the downside and even placing the SL below the last swing would have been hit.

They have been several occasion in the past were e.g. the long term expectation was NSL but intraday was NSH, so long was traded and ended succesfully. I hope that you know what I mean.

End of story of today was, that I took no trade.

Ok thanks for the input. No harm in trying at this point since I am shopping instruments. I do really like the /E7 margin and tick value for now. Can you please elaborate on this statement: if there is a major move where price shoots in one direction (50+ pips) don't expect a good fill if you even get one because of lower liquidity. What do you mean by good fill? Are you talking about a bar fill on the chart? Thanks again, good trading today everyone.

He means the fill of your stop loss order (or your entry order, if you are entering during that move). You might get a lot worse price than you are expecting as there might not be enough orders to fill your order.

Hey Lundies,

By a bad fill he means slippage. Slippage occurs when you take a trade at market but the next pending order to fill is past your intended price and your order ends up being filled a tick or multiple ticks away from your ideal/intended entry. You can usually avoid slippage with limit orders, but then again, there is no guarantee your limit order will be filled if there is no liquidity or volume moving the market.

Ahhh ok got it. Thanks (you too Sniper). Sounds like it may just complicate the whole thing as a strategy and I would hate to be boned on a bad fill. I will continue the search . And Mr. P I will look into going back to spot FX until my comfort (and wallet) can support the futures I am interested in.
