Closed trade at 14:55 before news release at 120.660 so 28 pip trade from my entry.
I think this was a good trade from the confluence in my plan, however I need to check when I'm home on the ema and macd arrow down on the same bar- I think this shows imbalance but I need to check my notes.

IMHO .... there are always a stack of news announcements everyday. Most of them have zero effect. However, the ones coloured *Red* can cause a violent reaction depending on the deviation from the expectation. (See columns). About 50/50 cause a spike. https://www.dailyfx.com/calendar
If you go to Friday you will see some Red events. EUR USD GBP & JPY are the ones I watch out for....

So are you saying we only look for the red news alerts for eur usd and jpy?

News alerts are a pain in the neck. The worst of the lot seem to appear in NY sessions on a Thursd & Friday. Then the Eur announcements in the London session.
I believe that explains why Dove prefers placing his one trade of the day in the Tokyo session.
Daisyd ......... You got the wrong Broker, if you would've read the thread you would've known we use Forex.com. I strongly recommend reading the whole thread, if not you're going to fail, trust me.
Found the quote from Dove: Rules for Economic News: a: Never trade during a MAJOR (Red) economic release. b: Clean up your trades 5 minutes before a major economic release. Need to update my notes and plan template to say only red major new releases.
