Delayed reaction of news events????

I was wondering if anyone has a theory on why recently most of the news annoucements have had a delayed reaction. There is not a sudden spike on release. It takes a few minutes for a reaction. I don't mind because I can adjust my trading but just wondering.

Many people know already my idea about forex machine , so my answer is always the same... they dont want you to make money with news anymore.

BUT, moslty of the last news data were not very surprising.

SO , no surspise, no spike

yeah its been a bit strange for the past two weeks. we have been talking about this delay in a couple of the other news threads. you wont hear any complaints though, makes it much easier to trade the initial spike (although not my style).

Maybe the delay has to do with the people trying to get their kids to school on time. It seems to happen at the beginning of the school year.

Next will be the daylight savings time change and people being forced to change sleep patterns. This is followed by news of more traffic accidents due to lack of sleep.

Maybe the sex is bad at home from a steady rise on the EUR/USD and now the USD is gaining strength so the EUR is dropping faster than sex with the spouse.

Many explanations exist. I don't mind either. Just make the profits and go to the next trade.

Several Reasons can cause a delay in the news reactivity:

- The actual content of the news release can have conflicting data or unexpected data within the press release.

- The actual release of the news item can be delayed for a few minutes.

- If the news is directly on par with expectations you may have to dig deeper into the news release to find content that indicates future direction or future expectations.

In any case it is always interesting to see your brokers bid ask spread widen when the news is not timed perfectly. Watch to see if the bid ask spread widens before there is cause to.
