Ok Traders. Quitting time for me going to have lunch with my wife. I hope today had great value and at the very least you learned the just because the market should be overbought we DO NOT trade against the expectation.

An overbought or oversold market can continue to move in the direction for hundreds of points.

I also hope the commentary today wasn't too much.

I will be back later to catch up and post.

It had great value. I have a problem to enter long, when price did already such a journey. I know, it is wrong to think that.

Your stop is very vulnerable. But I understand the not wanting to take on too much risk. Next time try entering with a smaller position size and giving it more room. Crazy market today. What buying!!! It slowed down for a bit and the bears looked like they were at least going to put the brakes on but they just stopped to catch their breath. WOW!!

Went short at the arrow. Expectation was (still is) for a NSL. I entered where I did because the most recent NSL showed strong projection and completed ABCD from highest point shown. I expected a shallow correction to the upside, and entered the trade at 50% fib. When I entered, the bears were showing up (you can see the tail) but that bar had not closed yet, and the bulls came back. This is the second trade this week that I entered with poor timing, both trades playing out like this one. Am I missing something in the analysis that will give me a better entry?

I think the bears have it them to get to at least a retest, but left the trade since I have to get to work. +9. I'll take it.

PS. Mr. P - I love seeing your trades, love the commentary too. It's helpful for a noob like myself to see it happen from the pro perspective. I'll read through 12 pages of thread for one trade to play out I don't care lol

Hello Lundies. Main issue I see is you did not let the candle close to look for a nice rotation candle. Did you scale down to a shorter time frame for the entry? I would have been watching the 50 level for a trade, referencing the gap to the left and possibly taken the rotation candle that formed after 12. But the trade is a bit late in the day for my personal preference.

No I did not scale down for entry - noted though and I will start doing this moving forward. I am using 15m to trade so which TF should I scale to? Is 5M fast enough? I have not watched the bar-by-bar videos yet either - on my schedule for tomorrow night. I'm sure I will learn about rotation bars etc. Thanks for the feedback I still have a lot to learn.

Yes, Mr. Pip will definitely teach you about bar by bar and rotation candles. If you want a time frame that is more on speed with the 233 tick chart a lot of the traders here use, you should check out the 5 minute or 3 minute chart. The 15 minute is very good for swing traders but won't give you the precise entries that intraday traders like to find to maximize their RR. Doing good man, keep it up!

In looking for trades consider the order flow analysis a critical component to the case building and decision making. Momentum and volume was very strong. You already had significant breakdown in the order flow.

Strength was building on the selling side. Keeping these facts in mind, I would have passed on a long.

Please remember to assess the order flow. The expectation is what we trade but the case building is critically important as well. This is another case of neglecting what the order flow is telling you. Momentum and volume came in strong on the correction. It was also way deeper then expected. Be careful when you see this. When I see something like this occurring I put on my patience jacket and expect a complex correction of some kind.

I then would like to see at the very least a strong attempt to test the low about a 61.8 or better. Then I want to see a 1:1 complex correction with the second leg being weaker then the first.

I hope this helps. Pick up on the clues that price is giving you. Build a solid case and understand your trade from Structure to order flow analysis.

The importance is on the order flow you are looking to trade. In your chart you may be trying to address short term and longer term as one.

In the longer term a retest is the proper label and a NSL would be achieved when the low is taken out. In the short term or intraday order flow, you are in a complex correction of the longer term making a NSH and realignment would take place when the HL is taken out. At this point is would be unreasonable to see price fulfill the expectation of the NSL.

The 1 minute highlights the very immediate order flow. It is very easy to get lost on it. Stick to the 5 min to filter that out.
