Some things I do myself, like most regular service items. However I am losing the enjoyment I used to get. Also some jobs are just too much; like when I discovered that the generator was a service-replaceable item with the cam-belt/water-pump etc. So the shop did that. Also the DMF went on the SO's car last year (or before) so I passed on that one too.

Yesterday ... a pair of rear calipers on account of the handbrake adjuster didn't. Brake fluid replace at the same time, a bit overdue....
The day before, I beat my youngest on the kart track ... but only because he was the last one to make a mistake. We're pretty even.
So today the biceps are letting me know.

The electronic management of everything has become a serious P.I.T.A. I had an old Nissan Terrano diesel LWB which I scrapped 2 years ago. Was a sad day I'd had the motor 13 years and loved it. Engine still ran like a swiss clock (250K) but it had a hard life bodywork wise and not much left keeping it together. I have Renault now, pretty much only things I'll do now is discs & pads, most other crap is plugged into something electronic, even the bloody handbrake.

Sitting watching the news. Can't handle it for long periods of time. One would think, watching this crap, that everyone in the UK hates Trump. Media would lead one to believe that your government is considering revoking Trumps invitation for a state visit as none there wants him in England. Y'all don't luv us no mo??

A counter petition was instantiated to condone the 'State Visit' of POTUS Trump. That started just after the existence of 'anti' petition made the headlines. The 'condone' petition reached a substantial level of support, including myself (can't remember the numbers; edit: currently 313,767).
So yes, there are still plenty of people who like the States.

I watched the Presidential battle last year with interest, until the real dirty fighting started. I had forgotten how bad it gets....
I imagine the same people who supported our Nige also think well of Mr.Trump. For one thing he doesn't seem to go around telling people how they should be thinking, unlike his predecessor.

Yesterday, or at least on yesterday's evening news, a man stood in the Houses of Parliament and pointed out how we had received people such as the current Chinese Premier, and one other less desirable leader. He pointed out that there were no protests nor petitions surrounding the visits of those dignitaries, and stated how hypocritical it is for anybody to complain about the visit by President Trump. A point well made I think.

I didn't hear about this. Why is only the express reporting on this?

I looked around and couldn't find any other reputable sources - with so much fake news around I like to double check.

Is this fake news, or is this a case of the media deliberately not covering it?

Any info appreciated.

I don't know Verv if the main story is sensationalism or what and you have to dig I agree. But this paragraph says clear evidence and if that is not the case, then it is BS and for those who have the ability there should be arrest records etc linked to this story. It is difficult to fact check printed matter. I happen to believe Europe/ UK is awash with weapons.
"He said authorities had identified clear evidence against 17 individuals who had entered Germany disguised as refugees, and most were either dead or had been arrested".

Here is a breaking item, so will need more info before deciding on the relevance to what has been discussed here.
