One thing that I have found to be important is liquidity / time of day. Price moves in the European / US session have much more importance than Asian session

First clue is price reversing from daily high/low during the 16:00 H4 candle.
Second clue is upper/lower wick size of 16:00 H4 candle.

TooSlow if your finding something in the 1-4 hour candles... Great! Stuff you find won't always be what others find.
Each of us see's the market though our own eyes.. Each of us trades a different time frame. There is no right or wrong.
But when you discover things for yourself, you can build trades around that discovory.

one thing you may want to do is clean up the colors a bit.. I just use very slight color change.. as not to distract me too much..

Nice clean way of seeing the session without making the chart hurt your eyes. (only for doing studys)
Asian will always be before london, usa will always be 3.5 hour before london close)
I always want candles to be the #1 focus on the chart.. not the sessions!
But like to be able to refrence patterns in previous sessions at a quick glance.

but still keeping candles #1 theme!

Colors?
The focus is on price.
Guess you want to keep things secret.

Time of day studys are a good thing. example-- Study of what euro does after usa open.. euros.jpg;2183908 From this chart I see USA SESSION USUALLY BUYS EURO's after usa opens... Knowing this gives me an edge. This is a hint to my session bias Time of day studys help me put odds in my favor. {image}

The trick would be knowing when NY is going to reverse what London has done and when it's going to let it run.

Hi , same here, i see too many what ifs,
normally a spike will retrace (maybe not 100%)
a gap will normally close.
a grind up ? very hard to trade as you need a market to open for the price action.
I think , actually i know market prior to open (i speak mainly UK open) is a good range to trade off. Using 4 hour even the 07-30 bar is very good.
I have years of stats to prove, even the negative stats are used as positive info.

1st question, it depends what you are looking for, i have normally finished trading by the time US opens. i only need a few pips% not tens of.
2nd question, thats a secret lol. 04-00 bar which is asian session leading into UK open, awesome just awesome. 7-30 bar very good . Like i said, it depends what you are looking for.

correct,,
cable chart, 20-00 to 00-00 4 hour. it is 19 range and a good range to trade off. the high has already broken and retraced.. Even if the high fails the low looks good to next trigger

edit, i put Cable range at 29 when infact it was 19, so amended.

I do not trade the daily anymore but when i did i was looking for a few pips/%,, Daily break on E/J, Cable have a very high chance of making + 5 . This is enough to live off and better than any bank interest rate.

Depends what you mean by 'works'

stochastics fibs macds any indicator relating to price gives you no value or edge.

so by that definition to me they DONT WORK.

a WORKING STRATEGY should net a single person 200% consistently a year but most here infact EVERYONE on FF has no clue and think 20% a year is great. Or that 70% probability is great. What a joke.

No one pattern works 100% of the time..
The trick is to put the odds in your favor.
Put the odds in your favor: right time time of day, How long till huge news, Are stocks risk on/risk off,
what is gold, oil and bonds doing? Is volatility dying down or picking up?
When all the stars align in your favor.. Only then do you trade
Everybody searching for one magical pattern.. Sorry its doesn't work that way.
Conditions have to be favorable for your setup to work.
AFTER enough studys about spikes(liquidity gaps), time of day, correlations to other markets, you will start just to get a gut feeling that the time is right.
This does not happen quickly.. can take years and years to fully develop.
You have to be fully committed to intense study of the charts for years.
Just like playing a guitar, or playing basketball, or golf.. It take a lot of time to get good.
The only system that will work is one designed by and for yourself.

What do you mean by works?
Every day there is a highest H1 open and a lowest H1 open.
Whether a trader wins/loses is their choice.
The pattern does not care.
