back, i had to go to court. I helped a policeman help handcuff a guy a few weeks ago and he says i broke his arm lol. But he didnt turn up today ... Don't ask questions as i cannot answer them lol. Dead Zone just closed, t 13-10

04-00 Break, A/U low broke for +10 and Cable High broke for exactly +10 then it dropped. Maybe Lems Dead Zone low break will bring in more points. Like i said, i did not trade today..
Dax broke 07-30 bar High for a few then dropped with whip.

Cad "Dead Zone" - I thought the triggering bar opened around the close of the 12 to 1 pm bar, popped south a bit , then North a few pips before diving South back into the body of the 12 to 1 pm bar ? Nice short if you took it. I am not trading today.

If you want to get in immediately, effectively it's a coin-toss.

Looking at the m5 chart below, you can see that there was in fact a WZ, though, yes, it was very small and looking at the chart after is so much easier than trying to pull that trigger live in this situation. Plus of course when you take the spread into account, there is in effect no WZ to work with. This also means that you have to fix a SL outside of the usual trading zone as well if you are planning on trading the move inside.

Two points to consider...

If you have a solid big-candle move and no WZ, then I will expect a move back inside after a small fake out. Still more ''gut'' than science, though.

As such, I tend to wait for price to make an initial move. If it breaks outside, then I wait for it to come back inside (if it's going to) and then go from there. If it comes inside, I can either wait for it to turn and trade any BreakOut, or I can bring the Mid-Line into play and trade that.

Having said all that, if I see that look, I will probably look for a better set-up elsewhere.

Hi Mr-T. See the earlier break-down as I saw it.

To recap, in that tiny-WZ look, I'd have waited for price to move outside, then if it turned and came back in, traded that move as it flew South out of the N-

-A as normal. I'd keep a really tight hard-stop outside of the box in case I got that entry wrong and it doubled back on me and continued on North.

That's an experience thing. You can watch it stall... I remember you told me just to watch how the pair moves for a week or two. You can see how it stalls what the head fakes look like etc.

It's tough as a US trader - have to be extra careful - if there is a solid close of the mid line - I typically bail and counter HEAVY and cover with 1-3 pips.. most of the time, if I have been watching it for a while, you can see the banks moving it and just hop in regardless of trigger.

Hi folks. Dead Zone set-ups for the day.

As noted above, I traded AU - took a small loss on the initial short, countered long and took profit at the Mid-Line as price looked to be pivoting around it.

Price continued on, up and out. I then entered again by hitching a ride on a South-Bound flight, once again taking profit at the Mid-Line.

Sweet...

I could have entered for a third time on another about face (in fact I could have gone in another twice through the session) but I felt I was maybe pushing my luck.
