Testing out really well on demo.
set up on 30 min.
the basic mt4 ma expert
price close across 12 sma.
on several pairs. look for net gain.
Here net gain was $50 at .01 took about an hour
2 losses, 2 wins net $50
There is an automatic stop loss built into the expert.
It's a stop and reverse.
So it's a hedge and grid but across several pairs rather than within one pair.
No more than one position per pair protects margin.
Losses minimized.

Jiva, will try this EA at Asian session.

Thanks!
RSwamy

PS: Fishing EA closed with $910 profit on USDJPY, EURUSD just closed with $123 profit.
looks like it may need $5000 per pair (.01 lot).

Yeah. I really like the concept. But in back tests it blew the accounts up. All it has to do is get going the wrong way in a strong trend and eat up all the margin.
also brokers fees, financing and swap can really eat away at the equity over several days if it gets stuck somewhere.
If I had $100,000 I could probably ride anything out at .01.
But I don't have $100,000.
Was this your live account? I'm jealous.
I'm still waiting for EURUSD to come back down.
I'm looking at setting up the close all positions expert and the ma expert on the 5 min during busy times. Just look for $1 profit average per pair so five pairs... look for $5 close all. Maybe could get more out of it like $10 or $20 per close all will have to watch how it works on the demo. Also I can open a trade any time manually if the conditions are right. No way to test something like this in the tester. That tester is nerve racking anyway. Bad data. I think it is only good for the roughest type of testing. Not for setting parameters or anything else.

Jiva, hi!

No, it's not live account.
Since you posted it, tried in 4 pairs, and looks like it;s doing well on eurusd and usdjpy. Besides these 2 pairs are hedging nicely.
Anyway, none of the pair lost so far.
As you explained in initial posts, this EA is not fully automatic, need discretion, and watching it constantly.
Ideally need to be in front of the computer. And also need to select, right hedging pairs.
May be, that's why there is no way to test it in tester.
Besides, as you said one has to have big account to try this EA.
This evening to watch:
AUDUSD, and NZDUSD=Buy
USDJPY=Sell

Thanks!
RSwamy

Yes. discretion. Which pairs and what market conditions are.
I can see how this would be really good if could get a handle on everything else.
Am looking at an expert that opens positions at limits. Not many trades but not so risky either.
Set up on 10 or eleven pairs it could be just the thing I'm looking for.
I will be extremely happy to find something that is consistent. It doesn't have to rake in a million a pips day, 10 pips would work just fine.
Just consistent!!!

There are so many approaches to trying to capture gains in forex.
Unlimited it seems.
Am looking at an expert that opens positions using limit orders based on percentage price change.
It doesn't open very many orders but the success rate is impressive.
It's designed for the 30 min but I am looking at it for 5 min also.
No matter what strategy someone is using it is not one optimized setting fits all.
Again it is the changing market conditions. Trending or sideways (oscillating)
The way to optimize settings, which has to be regularly...
Is to optimize up to a certain point in time and then bring those settings forward to use for present trading.
If the market is trending then those settings will be good more or less for duration of the trend.
When the trend ends and the oscillating begins there can be some losses until the optimizing for the prior period of time catches up with the present market conditions.
Optimize the last week and bring the settings forward to the new week would be good for trading lower time frames like the 30, 15 or 5.

$5 million in 17 months from $1000 start?
It stopped trading at $5 million in July 2016.
I want one!!!
Okay I bought it. $49..
Guess what... the demo model was somehow suped up...
the actual model does not trade at all like the demo.
Same settings, same data, same broker, same same same..
Not at all same results.
As a matter of fact it trashes the account in no time.
ripped off. I'll never "buy" a robot again EVER...
Learn from my mistake..

This one is by the same author as the expert we started out with originally.
This one sets up a grid of buy stops and sell stops...
Really lights up the chart....
