{quote} That is not correct. If the WagerIncrease multiple is used on losing trades (the default setting), the maximum wager will be limited by the value of the Buffer Value which is a percentage value. This setting has a default value of 20% but can be any nominated value. If the WagerIncrease multiple is used on winning trades (by using a suffix of "p"), the maximum wager size will be limited by the value of the Buffer Value which is a lotsize value. This default value is 20 lots but can be any nominated value.

OK. Thank you. That was actually my initially question because it was not stated in the Help File.

How do I nominate the value? Because there is a value I can nominate for WagerIncrease but not Buffer. There is an Oder Buffer input. Is that where the value is nominated but that should not is it?

RefVal sets the % of Equity (giving the initial lot size)
WgrInc value is a multiple of the previous wager (default is 1.0).
Buffer sets the maximum wager for increase on winning trades or maximum % for increase on losing trades.

All the above values can be changed by the user.

This change was made at your request so I really don't understand what is causing your confusion. Please refer Post #132 where I explained the implementation.

Update at Post #1 ver 3.16

  1. Open trades now display nett profit (after commission and swap charges)
  2. Update to help file to explain definable limits on Wager Increases

Note: maximum of 2 conditions each for Buy Entry, Buy Exit, Sell Entry and Sell Exits with free version.

Make sure the Auto Trading Button on the toolbar is enabled. If that is not able to be enabled, check Tools, Options, Expert Advisors and ensure the 3 boxes on the left are ticked.

Hi Dave
just read all the posts in AT2 and AT3. Ready to start my adventure. Found the link via 'trend catching with NonLagDotIndicator'.
Loved your articles on trading (hitchhiker)very informative and generous of you to share. Every little bit of information helps and I got a lot from your concise articles.
I have been trading the DAX30 and US30 Indices as well as FX. Does the EA cater for these instruments? I'm at the stage of downloading and I have to read the PDF.
Thanks again for your mentorship...looking forward to subscribing after reading all the PDF.

Hi Dave

Just wanted to say I appreciate the software. Truly remarkable. I have a quick question about optimising if I may. If we are optimising a set already optimised, do we just click optimise, or do we need to reset the base figures. For example, if the set I have at the moment has an optimised SL of 50. Do I need to reset it back to 30 before optimising again. Will it optimise from the 50? I am thinking not, but I just wanted to double check. Hope that makes sense. Thanks.

Hi Dave

Sorry, another question please. Does closing mt4 affect the wager increase at all? i.e.,is it reset when mt4 is closed down, or does AT 'read' from the account history?

Thanks

You can trade on any instrument contained within your MT4 symbol list.

When a set file is saved, the range of optimization values and the step size are saved also. When you recall that set file, the optimization is based on those values not any previous optimal settting. No re-input of base figures is required.

The wager increase value is taken by comparing the value of current equity to the equity exiisting at the previous wager and this is assigned to a variable which will be lost if MT4 is closed down and no wager increase will be applied on restart. Your question was quite valid and I could incorporate the logic for a restart if required.

Thanks for your replies Dave. I think having the logic to maintain the wager increase status in restart would be good. My daughter has just closed my mt4, and so the EAs will be starting from square one on Monday (I know a VPS would limit this, but I've had them close on me for weekend upgrades before too). Thanks.

Hi Dave

Another question which I hope isn't dumb, and I apologise if it has been asked before. If I am running the AT twice on one pair, but two different set files (different magic numbers), is the wager increase, which is different on the set files, applied to them separately? Hope that makes sense?

Hi Dave
Thanks for the great products and the free tick data.

I have run VRB on my home computer without problems.
But then I loaded the EA on my VPS, got the licence key and entered it, but nothing happens.
I assume the licence key makes use of shell 32 and on my VPS that just does not work for another application I tried to run previously. Could that be the issue and if so is there a way around this?
