hello, im looking for the top fixed spread brokers, especially brokers that keep those spreads fixed during volatile times and news announcements. I plan on scalping during those times and i want to avoid requotes or slippage as much as i can. I did a little bit of research online and i ve even called a couple brokers, but id also like to hear you guys experience. thanks

I trade on news time to time on Hotforex fixed spread account, it solves spread widening problem but slippage problem remains..
News trading on retail broker has been never an easy task.

Hello Leebsurag, whats your experience trading the news with HF, is there too much slippage ? and does the spread really remain fixed no matter which news comes out ? Also whats better for news trading, the zero spread account or the fixed spread ? Thanks.

Well unfortunately there is no "stable pattern" of platform behavior. Quality of order filling depends from numerous factors, starting from the speed of internet connection to the market agiotage relative to the news release. Hotforex is pretty fast during NFP and Central Bank events where I shoot with 1 to 10 lot orders with slippage from 0 to 10 pips (max). I would recommend you to experiment and not stick to some trivial trading pattern. Use system of limit orders and pre-news entries, etc. News trading is not that simple and plain as somebody may think..

Forex market becomes more unpredictable during the news release and almost become crazy during NFP so the new traders should trade carefully and safely.

It becomes so unpredictable than even basic S/R levels stop working. Market gets out of balance it means there could concentrate heavy trading forces on one side and even such plain strategy as working on pullbacks becomes very tricky. Basically S/R levels disappear and you won't ever know where the momentum runs out of steam. News trading is more about careful analysis of pre-release market sentiments, is there something special in certain report (for example it can influence a decision of Central bank, etc.). Readings tell nothing if you don't know what markets price in and your primary task is to analyze that.
