I would go with IC every time. DukasCopy are OK but if you want to use MT4 it is a real pain because you need to use an MT4 bridge.

You can use normally your MT4 with its strategies , indicators , graphics ,etc and use JForex ( Dukas ) only for open/close the operation .

You should choose Dukascopy. They are too famous for their tremendous liquidity pool. However, their trading platform are not friendly due to the Java background.
IC Markets have so many bad reviews on ForexPeaceArmy.
I myself trade on https://darwinex.com in order to win their monthly 1,500,000 GBP prize. This broker uses the liquidity from LMAX, one of the top liquidity providers and broker solution companies in London.

Why should java make it not user friendly?
You just download a launcher which has everything bundled, no extra steps required, it also updates automatically.
And works on all platforms (Windows, macOS and Linux).

JForex offers a lot more than MT4, range bar charts, tick charts, renko, etc... and high quality tick data history with bid and ask prices.
Also you can chose bid or ask prices for limit orders which is really neat.

Don't know about cTrader but surely better than MT4.

I have read some seriously bad reviews about IC markets where they advertise low spreads but as soon as you trade size, you are slipped badly.

I'm sure there are some who have had this experience here.

As much as I like LMAX, LMAX is just one of Darwinex liquidity sources because they're actually not that great as a LP - it's rather thin.

Back to the main question:
JForex is a great platform in my opinion but just like every other platform it's of course not for everyone. Try it out on a demo account. Java has nothing to do with the user friendliness of a software but it may look a bit different.

Regarding the broker itself:
I'd rather put my money with Dukas than icMarkets.

I've traded with fairly large lot sizes on IC and not had any problems. I use their ECN account. They also offer the classic bucket shop account and that might be the one that people have had problems with

I have used both and for me IC Markets is better than Dukas. The costumer service is faster, there are more depost/withdrawal options and they have better software. They are both good in any case...
