What do you guys make of this spying bill.

Basically 4 branches of government blew have access to all our metadata regarding our internet usuage.

This seems wrong to me.

Maybe, but it doesn't bother me too much. At least the wierdos, paedos and terrorists might get flagged up.

Proposal to reduce speed limit to 50mph.... haha, 50 would be good. I'm sure they got one too many zeros in that. Get rid of the lorries, they're a menace. In France it's 110kph in the wet and 130kph dry - that's 80mph and their lanes are narrower than ours. More bo||ox from the Daily Mail. This 'pollution causes 25,000 deaths' figure was reported on the BBC as being 'contributory' to 25,000 deaths.

Yet another example of creeping UK strictures, although NICE have called for the removal of speed bumps ... a move which I fully support because I believe they are not useful to anybody except the motor trade.

'The road to hell is paved with good intentions' goes the saying. I worry that bills like this though well intended has the potential to severely restrict individual freedom and is an affront to personal privacy. We have for example some members of parliament, some members of business, and some private citizens which are seeking to work through the courts to overturn the people's democratic wishes on the EU referendum. There is an authoritarian streak in some, though they would deny it exists, who simply believe that they know better and are willing to subvert democracy as a result.

I just worry what happens when a person with an authoritarian streak gets in power, and the structures of oppression (though not designed with that in mind) are already available to them and enforceable by law.

Are you looking far enough here? I personally believe you prepare for the worst case scenario.

I know. It's like CCTV, though isn't it? Personally, I feel safer with CCTV and I'm glad it's there. My priority are my kids and if it means a safer world for them then I'll go with it. I think the risk of us potentially coming to harm because of unsavoury characters is higher than a megalomaniac getting into power and controlling our lives, and even so, I'd rather have that than someone hurt us.

He e didn't win F1, Hamilton lost it through reliability. Rosberg was never a proper racer and has probably realised it. He was never going to win anything again, so he got out. He can never be beaten again.
