Which Prox line is correct? I started drawing the lower of the two but it looks like the large move away candle dipped down in the area contained by the higher prox line.

If I may.. As I can see, you use D/4h/1h sequence, so you shouldn't care so much about daily zones. You draw various zones on daily chart only to see (after switching the timeframe of your chart) where you don't want to buy or where you don't want to sell. I hope it helps.

EURUSD has very poor supply zones on the daily.
There are structurally better zones on the intraday timeframes though.
It just missed a 60min short today

on the contrary, accuracy in drawing zones is ALWAYS important
The difference is in the emphasis that is placed on the accuracy on the big picture accuracy versus the accuracy on the smaller time frame zones
The smaller timeframe zone is a bit more important
However, if you miss the accuracy on the big timeframe, the conclusion you come to as to whether to buy, sell or do nothing may be totally wrong if the accuracy is wrong

Wanted to to see if I could get input on day trading, time frames etc. My day job allows me to monitor charts some throughout the day, pull them up several times an hour, so I'd like something a little more fast paced. I think it would help with the learning curve not waiting days/weeks for a longer time frame setup.

Do you start with an hourly and work your way down to the 5min? I know I've seen 5 min charts in some of your trade examples. I'm assuming you monitor multiple pairs... so do you set alarms at key levels so you can see the approach prior to entering?

it is ok for learning to watch charts and work, but i would not recommed it for real trading. Make your experience with it, if you can do both wow. Depending on how many symbols you want to look at, take daily or 4hr as your highest timeframe for daytrading. from my experience with lower timeframes i can tell you they just put you in a hurry, no good analysis, no good and only quick decisions. Trading needs patience. Akt focused a lot on the right mindset in this thread. He knows why.

Hello Seth.

Here's the thing about trading or trying to trade at work.
Day-trading is the most intense form of trading because it requires all your energy, emotional, psychological and physical.
It requires the trader to be present in the moment at all times.
It is definitely do-able if the individual has the time
so i would urge you to consider this as you embark on this challenge.
Do-able?..yes Adaptations required?...most definitely

The good thing and most important thing is that you know yourself, in that your personality does not suit that of waiting days for a set up to manifest
so i would not suggest you trying to fit yourself into that mold.

Now the challenge for you will be coming up with a workable solution to manage the situations at work whilst still trading.

Here are some questions that may help get you started...
1. do you know what your day will look like each day?
2. what part of your working day will you be able to give to market analysis (not trading)?
3. Would it be possible to do your main analysis at home before leaving for work when you are less distracted and then just execute at work?
4. Would it be advisable for you to set up your work station so you have a laptop at work next to your main desktop that u use to keep the charts open in front of you?
5. Your order entry system...would it be possible to set it up so that you have a stop always going into the market at the same time as your entry order?
6. What will you do if you have to go into a meeting or are called away from your desk for whatever reason in the middle of a trade?
7. how prepared are you for other potential distractions at work?
8. How will your work colleagues take to your trading at work over time, especially if they notice you seem a bit distracted sometimes?
9. Will you trade everyday at work or just on some days?

I hope these questions get the little grey cells going for you.

The annotations stand for 4Hour demand and supply area and Day supply and demand area. I did not put in the 1 hour areas . I am a day trader original from Ireland living in NZ. I only trade forex prefer not holding trades longer than a day or 2 at the most. I am a retired biomed and trading is a passion although I am not consistent.
