You told it. Traders are traders and coders are coders. Traders have make money trading ( using tools made for others ) and coders have make money selling that specific tools they need. If a trader want make tools for himself he have accept he need adapt to coders world, not opposite. And that is the real problem. Not language or platform.

i remember when first b600 was done. All people blaming MQ because they changed language. All people will abandon the platform. A few months later nobody remember their words and promises ( people is happy with MT4 even is not MT5, is a half MT5 ). And will happens same when MT5 have same tools that MT4. Nobody will remember when they told MT5 is a crap and everybody happy with new platform until MT6 leave and will be start the cycle again...

Very True it takes time to invent the indicator. Make adjustments then watch in real time which can take hours weeks sometimes even month to see the outcome of your indicators or system all together. There has to be some mqL4 to mqL5 converter. It's unethical to just tell millions of traders you have to leave behind your progress.

from your points ..you're correct. MT5 intended for coders , for company himself to increase revenue...we're traders so bit disappointed. But its great lesson to learn . We Mt4 users have to find alternative as Nokia users choose Samsung later on. No regrets.

Metaquotes should provide at least some kind of emulator to run MQL4 based indicators just like we run old Windows versions on Vitual PC.... I strongly believe people will make workarounds.

No, I think, you still do not understand, the problem. You focus on a programming language, because you are a programmer, but most of us are not.I repeat and please answer me: Why if I change from Windows7 to Windons10, and all the applications work for me and from MT4 to MT5 none works for me ?. Please answer honestly and forget your work as a programmer.

I think you don't understand what is MT4. Mt4 is a naked platform with a language for improve it. Traders are important for brokers, not for the coders. Almost all coders share tools here don't sell it in anyplace. But MT4 without coders is nothing. For what want traders a platform don't have tools?
 
MT4 had success because the coders make the tools. That made traders want use it. Now all traders are worry about their tools, not if mt5 is better or not. And if finally MQ can move all the coders to MT5 then all users will be move to the MT5. For that MT is working for add all things coders want from MT4. For MT coders are the important. For brokers traders are important. For coders have a platform easier the development is the important

You didn't got the point ... The traders point is not about coders moving or not to MT5 ... Their point is that they don't want to pay for the move as their tools developped over the last 10 years will become obsolete.

And speaking about improvements. When new language was added all people ignored the best feature got MT4. The debugger. For traders that is not important because they don't have pass a lot of hours fighting with bugs. Maybe oop is the hell for many mt4 coders but I'm sure if tomorrow mt4 lose the debugger all coders will blame higher than when oop was added...

I don't know in other places but here almost all traders use free tools. Problem is all tools will not be converted because not all coders are actived. Maybe not only coders have been adapt new times...
